First Thoughts: Rolex Grey/Black GMT-Master II

I liked the two-toned and yellow gold GMT gray/black bezel - and like the stainless steel better. I'd buy this above Batgirl, Pepsi, Root beer, Sprite, etc., at retail.

I think I agree. I am good with the Pepsi but that is probably driven by me seeing it so much over the years versus me really favoring the colors. I tend to like the more conservative Rolex models in general. I have never actually looked into getting a GMT-Master II. I have an Explorer II (the 16570) and never had interest in another GMT watch since. Perhaps if I traveled more.

Yeah, I assume renders so it might be more pronounced in person but I definitely want to see it in some varied lighting conditions regardless.

@@AlexYenis I am not a watch dealer. Rolex does not allow new watches to be sold online you would need to go to an authorized dealer to make a purchase, or wait a while for the new ones to hit the second-hand dealers. But it is indicated Rolex is sending them to their distribution network now.

Funnily, I called this a few weeks ago (not the green GMT hand and lettering, mind). But I love this watch (though not a big fan of the green). Suggested Nicknames so far: - Bruce Wayne (nah) - Silver Surfer (I thought that was the Yachtmaster?) - Dark Knight (pretty good, but with the green hand and lettering, not really appropriate) - Zombie (purely going on bezel, but sounds a bit ominous, so no) - Decaf (to keep in line with the drinks, Sprite, Rootbeer, Pepsi & Coke, but it doesn’t really look like coffee) But my favorite is the “Shadow”, as if the bottom is the shadow of the top half; also it sounds a little mysterious, what I like. So, if I build a Seiko Mod Homage, with different colour text & GMT hand (‘cause a watch mod should always be slightly different than the original), I’ll call it the “Shadow homage”.
