I went to my AD last week. Still the same. They note it is not like a halo piece notoriously hard to get but they still do not have one for me.

@@WatcheswithDennis yeah I’ve gotten told from my ad “usually this doesn’t take too long”. I have been told that sub dates are more popular and there are much more produced therefore a standard sub can be harder to come by. Who knows man I hope you get yours soon!

@@WatcheswithDennis Of course Dennis. I know that your words are all in jest. Last I checked Archie seemed less psychotic like the meds were beginning to work. The Thai Ladyboys might have helped. But the Pontiff once did "paid reviews", or paid abuse as many called it. Any brand other than Patek or Rolex would be met with instant verbal character abuse of the Australian kind. Someone once dared to mention the word Invicta lol. Archie bitched and slandered Seiko to such a hilarious extreme, they threatened him with court action.

Thanks for the feedback. I wasn't sure how long the video would go so I capped the submissions at three watches (both to keep my own editing time to a level around what I'd usually do plus some people don't like really long videos on KZbin). It did go faster than I expected so I could see maybe going to six and keeping it within reason. I'm not quite sure on the best way to execute rating a collection with brutal honesty. With a roast the "victim" goes in understanding they are going to have their stuff raked over the coals. People might get more sensitive if I were to objectively judge things they spent money on. It could work but it depends on a few factors.

Not sure I want to go down an explicitly paid route. Full-on reviews is a different animal for a few reasons. With a roast everyone understands the assignment (destruction of all one hold's dear). I'll see if more 99¢ Club members are interested in this, and if so I may reassess after a few more to see what changes might make sense.

I had a PanoMaticLunar at one point. It was my only moonphase. Nice watch but I was getting another watch with a similar dial layout and didn't think I would wear both so I let it go. But I have been tempted to get back into GO with a non-Pano that might see more wrist time.

No, but I almost never talk about Invicta. Fanboy blowback usually comes in two forms for me, microbrand fans (rarely about microbrands themselves, but if I'm hard on one of their darling models I'll hear about it) and non-Rolex luxury (Omega is the primary but it can extend to JLC and others). The latter is more common but usually just revolves around if I say there is a Rolex I like. I'm not so surprised about this as there is a lot of anti-Rolex ideology within watch collecting.

I like to look for a watch I might sell or trade multiple to fund. Ideally gives me something I like while reducing the overall count. But it has gotten harder as I have gotten better at picking things I like.

The look doesn't evolve much by design which is the appeal to many. But I totally concur there are better dive watches (off all sorts of measures like depth, finishing, etc.).

The G-Shock screens are mineral glass (most of the time) so it isn't as scratch proof as sapphire but it resists better than the plexiglass covers. Mine has done pretty well the case takes most of the impact. I think my straps have shown the most damage. The squares sit reasonably low on the wrist (I think the round ones are thicker but I haven't had one).

I am not sure, might be tricky to measure since it often is a question of particular models. Grand Seiko and Glashutte Original tend to drop a lot. A lot of the Vacheron dress watches see a significant decrease. Almost every Tudor drops but not all by huge amounts. GO might be the big one.

A good point. Many older models have not spiked with the brands' current price increases. That is an interesting thing to explore because I think a lot of collectors become uncomfortable/uneasy when it comes to buying used. I think a combination of fear of fakes and Frankenwatches.

Still a few thousand over retail and I am not that interested in it to pay the premium.

Thanks, I will take a look. The sound was off (I separately record sound with a proper mic so that wasn't a big deal but might be a sign of other issues).

Downloaded a different recorder from Logitech for the webcam. I'll try it out next time rather than the built-in windows thing. Thanks again for letting me know!

@@WatcheswithDennis I find OBS is able to get an uncompressed stream from the webcam. What it looks like to me, is its using the built in $0.50 encoder on the webcam itself.

@@aussieexpatwatches thanks. I do have OBS (used to stream pinball) though I may also just jump to another standalone camera I used to use. Just figured for 1080p videos it would be faster with the webcam (I shoot the reviews in 4K but no one cares if my face is 4K).

@@WatcheswithDennis you have solid lighting, so I think using OBS to record your Webcam will make a world of difference.
