First start up sounded good

ARP 2000 head Studs are known in this platform to cause head lifting. Use oem bolts unless you need more power. Use ca625+ if you need head Studs that won't ruin your build and high hp

I'm only shooting for 450 -500. They shouldnt be a problem

Thank you so much for watching! Love all your videos! Super excited to see you get your car back out there. I personally just went big turbo and am finishing stiff up so I can start the tuning process! So excited!

I noticed you rest your head on the the wrong side. Should be storing that up side down or on its side.

Yeah. I always tried to lay it on a soft surface and such but I know that now 😂

Nice work man. I live down in central America mechanics down here are not too familiar with the speed6 engine so I will do the rebuilding myself. My concern are the clearances. Do I just tell the machine shop to bore the cylinders to 88mm? Might as well tell them to gap the rings I guess. Do the shaft has to be service as well? Thabks.
@ZJSProMedia4 жыл бұрын
Hey man! If you get the 88mm pistons they usually come with a spec sheet for both bore and balance which should both be something the machine shop is familiar with. My crank was in good condition and just needed a polish. Do note that you might have to use stock main bearings and have them coated. I tried to use king bearings but the machine shop said it wasn't working so I brought them the old ones to get cleaned up and coated to go back in.
@dasonstalnaker97643 жыл бұрын
I know this is extremely late, but did you get your crank keyed?
@ZJSProMedia3 жыл бұрын
Nah I didn't, it's not needed / recommended until 700+ Barret Strecker @corksport and I were talking and his nuts build isn't keyed. My goals are 450-500 so I should be just fine with everything I've done

Awesome job bro! I'm going through a full quart of oil every 200/300 miles i guess it time for a build. 🥲

Very nice!! I’m pulling the motor out of my speed to check if the head is level but while it’s out I would like to get my block to look as clean as yours. Have any tips on how to clean the engine block?
@ZJSProMedia2 жыл бұрын
I took the block to a machine shop, they steam clean them when they do machine work. Otherwise it's gonna be a lot of degreaser if you can't steam clean it...
@willg1252 жыл бұрын
Well done! I've never pulled the motor on the speed3 before but do you have to go from the bottom? Curious why you chose to do it that way.
@ZJSProMedia Жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late response. No you can take the crash bar and core support off. I wasn't aware that you could do this without having to recharge the ac so I didn't wanna do it that way thinking I'd have to pay extra for that
@WillJacksonNW2 жыл бұрын
Do you still happen to have the car? How has the engine been? Did they have to balance the rotating assembly after adding the pistons and rods?
@ZJSProMedia Жыл бұрын
I do, but it's for sale. It's been pretty dang solid! I believe they did balance it but it's been a bit I can't remember for sure.

How long did the rebuild take you to finish?
@ZJSProMedia2 жыл бұрын
Well there was a fiasco with main and rod bearings when it was at the machine shop. But about 2 weeks minus the time the block was at the shop from the day I parked it to the day I started it up again
