You might want to set looping to five minutes in case accident happens at 1 min45seconds into video, then next video starts, meaning you will have to lock both videos, or possibly three or more to catch interaction w all parties occuring across two or more videos.

I have a suggestion for that rear camera mount. If you use the second mount that came with the camera, you can use that little tie wrap that held the power cord and use it to mount the camera on that other suction cup mount. Loop the tie wire through the holes and secure it, and then stick The suction cup in the lower edge of your rear window and adjust the height of your camera. This way it will never be out in the elements getting splashed on or snow to cover up the camera and hide the cable under the rear seat leading to the camera.

I connected the red wire for the rear camera to the reverse light (checked it with a multimeter to make sure everything is good) but the reverse camera will not display automatically when I shift to reverse. Any ideas??

I have a dodge ram 1500 pick up truck. Here is a little hack that are used for the rear camera. Use the second mounting device with the suction cup and mount the rear camera to it using that little tie wrap used on one of the cables. Loop it through the holes and tighten it securely, and then stick the suction cup on the lower part of your window in the center and adjust the height of the camera angle. And then just run the cable underneath the rear seat up to the camera and you don’t have to deal with wiring it to reverse, or having the rear camera attached to the license plate being subject to the elements like rain and snow or whatever. And another reason for security, you won’t get some jerk smashing your camera or taking it off the license plate. I hope that helps.

Same here. I unplugged the power cable to the cam and plugged it back in. Then, a still image of the rear cam came on. But no live video. When I tested it prior to install, it worked fine. Any ideas?

I'm having a problem with my SD card filling up? But the loop mode shouldn't have it save anything until I eject the card right? Could it be the Gsensor autosaving when I'm on gravel roads?

Probably the g sensor. I had a similar issue where it would lock the videos and not record over them. I turned it off, I don't think it's really necessary

it has a mind of its own, sometimes it starts recording when i start the engine, sometimes i have to press the record button manually. no idea why that happens but i now i have to remind myself EVERYTIME i start the car to check whether or not its recording. Annoying as Fudge!

Make sure "motion detection" is turned on. It will automatically start recording when you start moving the car.

Well first of all if your camera screen goes black the camera is ptobably still recording. If you want your screen on all the time you need to scroll down to '' Backlight"", turn backlight OFF. Click on backlight and make setting is at 0. hope this helps

Has to be a micro SD card (the tiny ones). Push it in with the corner of a credit card, or use the tool that came with the camera (It's a paper-clip looking thingy that's taped to the inside top of the box). It goes in quite far before it "clicks" and locks in place.

Same problem I'm having. You batter IS charging, the problem is that the battery is worn out and will no longer hold a charge. I have two of these Chortau dashcams and both have battery issues.

Your battery might be the culprit. On most dash cams the battery not only allows it to record when the car is off but also keep the memory. Turn on the camera without the car on and watch the battery to see if it drains fast or never charges.

It should beep at you as it switches over to rear camera saved videos, as well as saved pictures. Your camera still working? I just saw a bunch of reviews of people saying it died out after 3-6 months.

I have two of these Chortau dashcams for two cars. The batteries in these Chortau dashcam's wear out after a while and they won't hold a charge.... and this means that park mode will no longer work because the battery will be dead. So many flaws with this dashcam.

After how much time they wear out? Maybe it is because they have no time to re charge properly.

@@positive_lightning after a few months the battery will be worn out. The only time I recharge is while driving. Taking it out of the car everyday and charging it would be a pain.

If the battery maintains a low level for a long time it could die, so in order to keep them charged, over time could be useful to charge them manually. Not every day, maybe fortnightly/monthly depending on how much you drive the car.
