A dry summer meant there was not a lot of heavy stuff to cut, but at least I was able to test out the Ford 5000's PTO, and the newly acquired Hawkline brush cutter.

Firstly the 5000 is a category 2 3pt hitch. It uses an 1-1/8 inch bottom pin and a 1 inch top pin. Second 540pto speed is at 1900 engine rpm. A 1920 has a category 1 3pt hitch.

Engine rpm 1900 @ 540. The right 3 pt hitch arm is adjustable to bring up to level the mower. It should have a crank handle at the top. It looks broken and you may use a pair of vice grips to turn it to level the arms. The linkage on the 1920 3 pt hitch is not original equipment - It should look more live the 5000, The draft control should be set in position for bush hogging.

Grade 20 bolt, made from that stuff Captain America's shield is made of.

It would be CAT 1 vs CAT 2, none of the Ford tractors came with CAT 3…far to big.

It works better when the brush hog is all the way down to the ground

Yes, but I did not want to roll up a rock on it's first ride out. I will get to the carnage later this year.
