Greetings from Scotland! Diana is 18yo currently but I've been following her since around 13yo. Diana is a natural Dramatic Contralto so the lower registers are her comfort zone but she now has a 4 octave range and it's increasing. Diana's birthmother had multiple miscarriages but when Diana came along, she seemed to hate her. She verbally and physically abused her, trying to drown her and belittle her. It all culminated when (at 3yo) she dragged her to a bus stop with a broken collarbone and abandoned her, saying "Survive if you can" A passing relative took her in but because she cried constantly (naturally with a broken collarbone) she took her to the authorities who removed Diana from her birthmothers care and placed her in an orphanage. For almost 2 years Diana never gave up hope and she knew that she was meant for something better. (This story is in her Wikipedia entry) Finally her new mother (Irina Ponik, who worked as a masseuse there occasionally) Signed her adoption papers and took her home. She vowed to pay Irina back for her kindness. Irina had a real struggle because Diana had obviously been badly affected by the experiences and at 5yo, she had a very bad stammer. It was recommended that she be taken for singing lessons to help this and immediately it was recognised that Diana had perfect pitch and an excellent ear for music and songs. 1 year later, at 6yo, Diana was performing solo on stage! This young unique phenomenon sang everywhere and anywhere she could, working constantly to earn money for the family who rescued her. To those that don’t know, Diana Ankudinova was only 18 years old when this performance took place during the 2021 season of a Russian vocal competition called the "ShowMaskGoOn". This cover of the Elvis Presley classic "Can't Help Falling In Love" now belongs to Diana and demonstrates Diana Ankudinova’s true contralto sound. For those that don’t know about female voice types, a contralto is the lowest female voice type and is very rare. First, to answer a very common question about Diana's vocal range. In 2017, her range was measured from a low of D3 to a high of A5. As of September 2021, about 4 years later, her functional range was measured from a low of C3 to a high of B♭5. But, it's not just how low she can go, it's the exceptional quality of her tone in her lower range. It's also her timbre, the roundness, the fullness, and the depth of her voice, along with her ability to create and access an enormous amount of resonance that further define Diana as a "dramatic contralto", which is the rarest of the rare contralto voice types. A lot of Diana’s ability has been attributed to her being born with vocal anatomy that is unique. Her vocal folds appear to be longer and thicker than most female singers. Her larynx and vocal track similarly appear to be bigger and longer which gives her the ability to produce such deep, rich sounds. To really appreciate vocal progression of Diana Ankudinova you really need listen to "Rechen'ka", which is a Russian folk song sung in Russian when Diana was only 14 years old during the 2018 Season of a vocal competition called "You Are Super!" Next listen to her sing a cover of Chris Isaak's, "Wicked Game" during the 2019 Season of "You Are Super!". Diana Ankudinova won both the 2018 and 2019 seasons of “You Are Super”. Diana is also a true polyphonic singer which in itself is also an extraordinarily rare talent. What is a polyphonic singer? A polyphonic singer is defined as a singer who has mastered a vocal technique that creates two different tones at the same time which adds harmonic overtones and undertones makeing it sound like two different voices at the same time. To have s singer as young as Diana master this technique is both impressive, and extraordinary. This polyphonic sound is why some people mistakenly believe Diana Ankudinova is using auto-tune, a voice synthesizer, a vocoder or pitch correction software, or some other artificial form of electronic voice manipulation to alter or adjust her sound. Others think another person is singing off stage in the background, or she is lip-syncing over a previously recorded vocal track. There is no artificial manipulating of any kind going on at all. Diana's background: Diana was born on May 31, 2003 in the Far East of Russia. She was severely abused as a small child and abandoned on the street by her birth mother in winter when she was only 3 years old with a broken collarbone. She was then taken to an orphanage where, after more than one year, she was adopted by Irina Ponik, a massage therapist. At the age of four and a half, Diana still could not speak properly. She also stuttered. Experts recommended that she take singing lessons to improve her general speaking and vocal skills. This is a new TV show in Russia. There are 9 weeks with 9 shows and 9 well known artists. Diana is the youngest artist. They had to sing songs from 9 genres. The last TV show was on 20. November 2021. The 9 artists are also the judges for the other singer. And Diana (18 yo) won the overall competition of which Diana won 4 and took 2nd place once. She shocked the other singers with the first song. The Crow was her masterpiece in this competition, in my opinion. The judge who stands up is the great opera singer Yusif Eyvazov and the husband of Anna Netrebko, who is world famous. ok so there is alot I want to tell you about Diana first she is a contralto type voice the rarest and deepest female voice there is 2nd she has the ability to use polyphonics in her singing which means she can hit 2 different notes at the same time and it also works with the sub harmonics as well 3rd she also has the abilty to use binaural sounds so you put that all together with her range and she is the most unique voice in the world no one can compare to it now about her she has a very sad but ultimately triumphent back story you should really go to wikipedia and read about her she started singing at the age of 5 to help with speech problems and they found out how unique she is she has won several tv shows I am sure everyone will give you alot of suggestions of what to listen to she has several different nicknames she is known as the queen of goosebumps and a siren and shamanistic singer she can sing in several different languages spainish french english arabic of course russian there is a very deep catolog of her music so get ready for a great ride she released her first albumn a couple of years ago which was a totally crowd funded project and kind of semi professional and now in Dec she released her first professionally done albumn with some really great music on it I will be watching for your reactions and when you run out of others suggestions for her music I will give you more I am sure they wont get them all lol I liked your reaction to this one so you have a new sub now oh and I will tell you most dontsay please dont do anything that is a fan made video Diana herself has asked her fans not to listen to those because they are not hers and not the right performances that she did they add and subtract what they want from them and you dont get her real voice in most of them and if you can help it dont skip parts of any performances because then you loose context and meaning in them ok enough for now

Diana is a very rare Dramatic Contralto who also has a natural polyphonic overtone (reverb) to her voice. She is now 18 years old...but you need to check out her earlier vids, "Rechenka", "Wicked Games", and "Human" back when she was 14 or 15. She is also a great yodeler and competed on several kids shows as a yodeler....she is a gift from God if you believe.

Watch Diana's "Personal Jesus" it's not as crazy as can't help falling in love but it really shows off her command of the stage and skills as a performer. She had all the judges in the palm of her hand. She's really a special young women. An incredible unique talent. The first time I heard her perform was on Voice kids Russia, but the foolish judges rejected her.
