That's a really cool little adventure. I love hot springs. One thing I miss a lot from when I lived in the PNW. Sure beats the extreme danger of the last one!
@BoatingJourney9 ай бұрын
What an epic ride! The Fraser River is responsible for so much weather in the PNW, so it was great seeing what you encountered along the way.

Great trip so far. I've paddled from Harrison beach to Port Mann bridge...it IS a mighty river. Cheers!
@idreamofdinghy5 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! Wowza! Thats a long paddle. Did you do it in a day? Or camp along the way? Also what were you paddling. Canoe or Kayak? It is mighty. I can’t wait to go back up. It was one of my favourite trips I have done and it’s so close to home. Darryl

@@idreamofdinghy took my time and did it over three days with some hiking along the way. 12' SportsPal sp pointy canoe (red w/ white stripe)...great stable platform for everything (I despise uni-taskers) Also, couldn't help notice your floater jacket...I just retired from the CCG a few months ago at Shoal Point. Keep posting great stuff, eh!

Nice ride. I'm surprised that you didn't mention that the old ferry was in fact the Queen of Sidney.

I know... I defiantly should have. It was such a stunning site to see. I was shocked when we were checking it out. It almost didn't feel real.

The beautiful Fraser valley ❤ I'm an American who's travelled across much of your fair country eh! All the way to the Yukon 😊. Across the James Bay frontier from Timmons to the Soo!! My late father and I were in, Ottawa once for a holiday weekend and were invited by some locals to check out of our Hotel and spend the weekend as guests in their home to which we readily agreed 😊. The Canadian people are bomb ass dope!❤ The Fraser valley is unmatched for its beauty. The Cascades are gorgeous 😮. BC is bitchin! How about that, Gordy Howe bridge! 😊 Fair winds and following seas shipmates! ❤😊

Yes Darryl & Tory another awesome epic video. Absolutely breath taking scenery "WoW! This will be interesting as I have never thought about The Fraser River as a travelling river as you don't really hear much about it here in Ontario anyways. I was thinking about you should do a Great Lakes Dinghy trip and canals and Locks. Looking forward to your next adventure hopefully further up the River as I would love to see more and how far up you can go. Catch you next video
@idreamofdinghy9 ай бұрын
Hey Jonathan! Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed it! We defiantly had fun making it lol Yes the lower part is more for travel. I actually couldn't find much at all online about transiting the Fraser River. I ended up calling the local marinas to find out info. So I don't believe too many people use it for transport anymore. Mostly fishing! We are going to try again and get higher. We we went on this trip it was really really low water so that was a definite challenge. We were thinking of a jet leg or something on the boat because my propeller got smaller and smaller along the trip. lol Yes Sir the Great Lake trip will come! I promise.
@jonathanscott5509 ай бұрын
@idreamofdinghy once you get to the Toronto portion of the Great Lakes trip, I would love to do the portion up north to Sault Ste Marie Ontario with you if possible. That would be welland Canal to Lake Huron Georgian Bay to Lake Superior. I think the route is. A man can dream lol

Nice! My home port is Victoria. I've been up the Fraser in my boat but only to Mission. I draw a bit more water.... l have almost 6 feet of draft as its a 40f fishboat.
@idreamofdinghy9 ай бұрын
Thats awesome! Victoria!! Ok at 6 feet draft you wouldn't make it much past mission. Thats why you need a Dinghy lol But seriously it was very shallow when we went. I wasn't expecting it as shallow as it was. My prop got smaller and smaller during the trip lol

Yes correct. I made some mistakes. We tried to go past Harrison but it was to shallow. Especially with the low water we had.

A great run in a rib, on my ToDo list, except I might drink a slightly better beer :)-- I recall an ocean going water jet doing the run from Steveston to Kamloops. I did not find in on YouTUBE, but I did find this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXiWn3eKo8yegbs -- Gary Coleman 49n12/122w58

Hey Gary! Id say drink better beer for sure lol> Tory and I might be hooked on river boats to do trips exactly like you mentioned. I checked out that video and it looks RAD with the river boat. Im going to look and see the Steveston to Kamloops. That would be a great trip!
