I like your laugh of disbelief - most of us had the same reaction the first time we were confronted with Ningen Isu! They've been playing metal since the late eighties actually, with only a drummer change. Of course they were young hairy dudes back then, but they were already playing their Sabbath-inspired music. They never stopped, but were thinking of stopping when suddenly "Heartless Scat" became viral worldwide! Then they started to tour worldwide ... but then covid happened.

Hey I totally got them from note one, as they and I have the same influences, and I am just sorry it took me so long to find them. But here we are. Ningen Isu forever. 🤘

Great Raction! I'm glad I've been listening to rock and metal for so long, this is an excellent song that makes me think so! ningen-isu is a band that makes us feel thankful that they have been rocking for a long, long time while we whine that rock is dead.

They're monsters, and have so many great songs :) Maybe try "Namahage" next?

These guys are amazing. I can't believe they've been around so long and just now I've been seeing their videos popping up everywhere. They've apparently played at Ozzfest in the past so obviously have been known, will need to dig deeper with them. Thanks for the reaction.

If you had the eng sub on You might know that this song is a prayer for success. When this video got viral they went for their first oversea tour in 30 years! 2 gigs in Germany and one in London UK, was heading for the states but then covid came along....Guitarist is born 1965. Another band that are a couple years older: Show-ya.The grandmothers of all female metal bands in Japan. Check out their latest Eye to eye MV. They still rock at age of 59!!!

They've got 23 studio albums worth of songs (and a few others) from which to choose your next reaction. But to save you some time try Namahage, The Colour out of Space or Toshishun. A lot of their official videos have English subtitles, or in the case of Toshishun, a second version with the English subtitles baked in, if that interests you.

Yessssss TGun! So glad and honoured that you eventually react to all bands I suggest (amongst many other people too of course) and hope we'll continue to please you with the "least requested songs"🤘 This is a pure gem, I just knew you'd love it...We cannot consider Japanese music without mentioning Ningen Isu, and cannot consider contemporary quality rock/metal without knowing them. Twenty-odd albums and over three decades in, shame the world outside Japan don't know them more. Saw these guys in 2012 in Tokyo, they are of course just immense live too! Exceptional characters also. Where else do you get a band with a late 19th century academic, a Yakuza wannabe and a Buddhist monk for members!? For your own pleasure, re-listen it again with subtitles because their lyrics are always profound. Next please I'd like you to consider reacting to a Japanese band nobody mentions or reacts to really. They are 'Boris', a cult band and pioneers of doom/drone metal from the 90s, still active and incredibly versatile. Perhaps not all their material is reactor-friendly but they are just immense and in their lead guitarist Wata, you find the original Guitar Goddess! For a start perhaps check their songs: "Riot Sugar" kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHbXaGWfgN19Z5I "Pink" kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIOodGedq61ofdk "Heavy Friends" kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXjMiKV9qcaNadE "1970" (audio only) kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmScZ5KYqLJom7s "Loveless" kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4rTqmimoZyjr5I In this order, because once you start your Boris journey, they'll beckon you forever ...Rock on!🤘
