Not surprised that most of the girls were disappointed by the ending. From what I recall, Suzy Lu, Alyssa Maric, DarkCat, AGirlAndAGame, and FreeLancer Amber also expressed disagreement or some disappointment with the results. It's one of the worst-received Death Battles among women. It probably has to do with Bayonetta being a discriminated female minority or an allegory for female empowerment. Don't remember Cee, Jazz, and Definitely not Definitive's stances on Bayonetta losing though.

Oh and on top of that, itsuno said that he considers Dante’s appearances in marvel vs capcom 3 canon to his storyline. And in that storyline Dante beats galactus and even the Phoenix force as it’s his rival. Like that’s literally his canonical arc in the game; he has to beat both the Phoenix force and galctus to get his ending. And in that ending he makes the son of chthon fear him. Bayonetta stood no chance…

Small correction, Dante can die. Bayonetta may not be able to kill him, but he can die. After all, Vergil is essentially his equal. And Dante killed him once. Therefore, they are killable. The recaps in-game mentioned it several times. Using words such as “deceased”. The History Recap in DMC4 says that Nelo Angelo had Vergil’s soul, Dante’s “vanquished” brother. Even in DMC5, Nico asks Nero about how it felt to rescue the man that killed his father, because she heard that Dante killed Vergil once. Unless Dante is more special than Vergil, I’ll assume he can die just like his brother.
