If there is one thing, I've noticed about BTS no matter how hard things are they always find time to laugh and see the brighter side of things as long as they are together. they are appreciative of their staff and yes, they have an eye for beauty as they themselves are either film or broadcast and entertainment majors.

Thanks for checking this out... Many of their core staff have been with them since the beginning... they are all known for the respect they have for their staff and teams.... Lumpens ( Choi YongSeok, art director and his team ) have been the ones behind most of BTS MVs since the start. That cameraman must have arms of steel... it's impressive the way he weaved through them.

They always work so hard, aiming for the best results possible, never settling for less than the best. One of the criteria they use to determine if something is good enough is, is this something they would be proud of to show to ARMY.

During this time, BTS has no budget to do anything. If you check out I Need You MV and behind the scenes. They use their managers and staff for the extras. The camera man has been with BTS for a long time.

actually this was the first comeback where we saw them do more expensive things like setting buildings and cars on fire, hiring a bunch of back up dancers. I remember when fire came out, I was so proud of them because I could see they were finally getting the budget they deserved but my guess is that they spent it all on the fire mv, save me mv had to be more low budget but it still looked incredible and is pretty iconic to this day.

Save me is such an iconic MV. Lots of people probably wouldn't even tried to shoot the MV in those conditions, but they were able not only to do so, but also perform the choreography and used expressions so well, it's actually mind blowing. Like that you really appreciate the Behind RM of BTS will release his new album RIGHT PLACE WRONG PERSON on Friday May 24th 2024, and also his pre-release track COME BACK TO ME on May 10. hope you will tune in!! 💜

I don't know whether I've told you or not, but when you're using BangTan Subs (our HEROS!), be sure to watch for those little snippets of information (usually in red and usually at the top of the video) that they provide either explaining something that was said by a member or the location that they're in. They're very useful. (I'm a silver ARMY and in the beginning, BangTan Subs were our life line for translations.)

Their cameraman and staff are superhero’s. The first time I saw the behind the scenes of this MV I saw all the potholes & mounds and was afraid the cameraman was going to trip and fall. He probably didn’t get a raise for another year or two because BigHit didn’t have much money back then.

In contrast to the wet and cold conditions here for SAVE ME, with light clothing, when they were filming DNA, it was sweltering hot and humid and the "stylists" had the guys wearing heavy clothing like sweaters. I read that RM was protesting it. You would never know their great discomfort by watching the DNA mv.

It surprised me how much input BTS has. I always imagined the director would direct and decide when they're done. But time and time again, we see BTS watch the footage and decide to try again for better results. Is this unusual for crew and artist to have such mutual respect? We frequently see BTS voluntarily perform a dozen times to get it right by their own standards. Would directors normally go along?

Yes, somewhat unusual. ESP. in USA. JK directed one video. V did one of the photo shoots, Jin directed one too I think, and Jin did the choreo ( believe it or not), for spinebreaker and 21st century girl. ( When you watch these you will believe it, it's so Jin.LOL). Also by this time all were in college except Suga, RM and JIn who had graduated.

So happy to see you're watching this one! As hard as they work, they still find a way to have fun be happy, and they treat everyone well. Not many good people leave Big Hit. from security to cameraman and choreographers, to hair and make-up and in house producers like Ppdogg . There are very good behind the scenes videos for almost all MV. many reactors watch video, then behind the scenes, and or dance practice. Army will watch with you, plus it gives new people a full view. Plus there is so much to their catalog, they figure out quickly they will never get through it if they don't double up. AND when preforming live, many on stage fun is derived from behind the scene shots and you can hear ARMY's laughing because we share the joke with them. There is a really funny one with Save me, but I'll let you find it for yourself.

Their production standards are so high. I would suggest start with their 2016 MAMA ( one of the major Korean music award shows) performance ( it’s on Mnet channel). It’s incredible!

I think it's to give the guys a point of reference. On a stage, you know where is stage right or stage left, and you can mark out the spots where you need to be as you dance, but when you're outdoors in the wide open like this, moving in and out of the camera frame in circles, you need something you can orient yourself towards so you know where you are

Most of their MVs were done by Lumpens Production Company for years and years, led by art director Yong-seok Choi. Lumpens is his nom d’ artiste. Brilliant visionary. Bang and Big Hit really put together a dream team to support BTS as well as the miracle that is BTS themselves. It really seems like it was fated. There is just no explaining all the synchronicity, serendipity and synergy of them, with all the odds stacked against them. Their story is really crazy. I recommend their book "BTS Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS." They are also the first musical group to also be NYT bestselling authors.

Scott and Sam, please answer a long standing question: what is the role of the guy with the red umbrella? It wasn’t always to guide the camera operator, and at one point he’s standing ona little hill holding the umbrella above his head to the music. You see him doing it more prominently in the final take.

Just like save me it was an all day suit But it wasn't done in 1 shot. Differences Save me shot in Korea on a very cold day and it was raining On kinetic manifesto film was shot In the heat of summer in Los Angeles It's either a bridge or a dam I think it's Los Angeles angeles river which is all cement cementthe. For on kinetic manifesto They shot it in segments Not 1 shot But When they performed it live at the Grand central terminal New York city for the tonight show starring jimmy Fallon. BTS hit upstairs behind some Tarps and curtains Put up for a supposed to Maintenance maintenance and repair project. They had the big boom camera disguised as a maintenance boom With a basket I guess and then you put the camera on itit. They had to wait until roughly midnight when they shut the lines down Diverted the trains that were running to other terminals Cleared out grand central Gave them 4 hours between midnight and 4:00 AM Gave them 4 hours between midnight and 4:00 AM To set up the equipment Set out their positions Do a couple of semi rehearsals Then they shot The full Performance In 3 1 shot takes. Then they had to Breakdown all the sound equipment and The camera and By 4:00 in By 4:00 AM when they reopened the Terminal.
