Hi guys, welcome to Cebu. You two are very cool, sweet and lovely. I like the way how you explain in details about the rich history of Cebu and its beauty. Very informative. And guys, here are some travel tips for you to enjoy the beauty of the Island, aside from exploring the South of Cebu province, a 2 to 4 hour trip from Cebu City (capital), for the famous heart pumping extreme adrenaline adventure the Canyoneering, Kawasan Falls, Aguinid Falls adventure, Tumalog Falls, Waterfall hunting, the Sardine run, Swim with the whale sharks, climbing Osmeña peak, the Simala Shrine, etc., and North of Cebu province for the 170-hectare the Cebu Safari & Adventure Park, pristine white sand beaches in Bantayan island, Virgin island, Malapascua, diving with Thresher Sharks, Camotes island, etc. And don't miss the Mactan Island where the airport is located; Mactan Island is a hub of world-class resorts, breathtaking diving sites, pristine beaches and islets that are home to Philippines luxury resorts; and the best island hopping adventure. It is also highly recommended to enjoy the beauty of Cebu City. Enjoy the local food like the world famous Cebu de lechon or inasal or litson in local Cebuano language, Sutukil, kinilaw, seafood, siomai, Danggit, Chorizo de Cebu, Dried mangoes, fresh mango, Otap, chicharon sa carcar, bud-bud, masi, pintos sa Bogo, rosquillos, bocarillo, bucayo, ampao, masareal, puto, puto maya and sikwate, hopia de Cebu, Puso rice and eat it with litson/inasal, barbecue, ginabot, ngohiong, lansiao, tuslob buwa, pochero, linarang/larang, etc.. While you're in the City visit the Magellan's Cross, the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño Church, the newly built Santo Niño Chapel w/ a 30 foot giant image of Sto. Niño just behind the City Hall, the Carbon Market, Lapu-lapu shrine in mactan, SM seaside city the 3rd largest mall in the country, the Cebu Ocean Park next to sm seaside, the Nustar Resort and Casino, and try the new tourist destination in Cebu, it just open last April, the new Iconic landmark of Cebu the CCLEX (Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway) bridge or the Cebu 3rd Bridge, 8.9 km, the longest and the tallest bridge in the Philippines, just pay an extra 90 pesos for the toll fee, if you're driving from the airport and to the airport just take the CCLEX, and if you're already in the city just go to the srp, and the view is just simply astounding and breathtaking especially the ride from Cordova to Cebu City, the skyline of the city is just amazing. Visit also the Ayala terraces & roof top garden in ayala center, Sugbo Mercado in IT park (Information Technology park) or in CBP, the Carbon Street food market, the IL Corso Food Yard by the bay and watch the dancing musical fountain. To experience overlooking city view visit Blue Elephant sky lounge at night, Blu bar & grill in Marco Polo plaza, and Verified lounge. And just 20 to 30 minute ride away from the city center or from IT park (Information Technology park) you get the chance to explore the beauty of the mountains or uphills of Cebu City, such as: the Taoist Temple, Temple of Leah, Sirao gardens, Tops Lookout (temporary closed/redevelopment), Little Kyoto, and Delicious food with over-looking view in Top of Cebu restaurant, La Vie in the sky, Charlie's Cup, Chixboy, Mr. A bar & restaurant, and many more. Cebu lives up to its moniker as "The Gateway to a Thousand Journeys." There isn't a shortage of explorations to do in Cebu. Cebu offers a unique travel experience as it is a place where the city and paradise meet. Only in Cebu. Explore and enjoy the beauty of Cebu. The Queen City of the Philippines. Be safe and God bless. ♥️

The one that you took was a modern mini bus, the eco-friendly mini bus which is gradually replacing the old traditional jeepneys in Cebu. The remaining traditional jeepneys which are still running now are just enjoying their last remaining days as they await their 5-year license expires. As soon as their license expires, they will no longer be allowed to run on the streets of Cebu. The owners/operators of the aging or traditional jeepneys need to replace their fleet with modern buses, either regular size-bus or minibus, when they renew their license in order to continue their transport business in Cebu.

Since the pandemic started, traditional jeepneys were not allowed to operate. The government of Cebu Province and Metro Cebu started releasing a government-owned jeepney and hired those jeepney drivers to operate around metro Cebu. Today, most jeepneys are the new ones that looked like minibuses. There are still some traditional jeepneys operating around metro Cebu, but fewer compared to pre-pandemic. Also, the largest University in the Visayas is the University of San Carlos which is located in Cebu City.

If you look carefully at the paintings of Magellan's cross, you see both Spanish and Portuguese soldiers armed with weapons and watching the locals working to put the cross on the ground. They forced to established Christianity in the Philippines, the truth is they put us into slavery And colonized the Philippines. It seems like you are interested in exploring the flavor of the Philippines, so I suggest you also visit Davao CIty in the Island of Mindanao. It is the third largest city in the Philippines and the most modern progressive city in the southern Philippines. Afterwards, head back north and explore the tourist attractions of Northern Philippine cities. Baguio is the summer capital and Laoag is a presrved Spanish city of the 16th Century and more equally interesting tourist sites in northern Philippines. Bon Voyage!

There’s also a museum there about some old religious artifacts, letters during Jose Rizal time etc. Cebu dialect is Cebuano which most words are the same with Spanish like when we count in Cebuano: uno, dos, tres, etc. Same with time: ala una, alas dos, etc Kutsara(cuchara), tinidor, siesta, fiesta, etc.
