First Time Fishing on the Jetty and Crabbing | Tillamook Bay, Oregon
Our family spent the Labor Day holiday weekend in Garibaldi, Oregon. We had a great time exploring the area! We did some crabbing on Tillamook Bay as well as fished Barview Jetty! This was our first time there and had a great time! We came back home to severe smoke from the Oregon wildfires.
We mentioned at the end of the video about salmon fishing next weekend, but that is going to be postponed to a later date due to the current conditions. All of our safety is the main priority right now and that absolutely comes first! Keep us and Oregon in your prayers! We know several family and friends being affected by the fires right now.

That was cool how you could watch the crabs go into the traps. And what was up with that abandoned car? That was strange.

Yeah it was! Being able to watch them get in the trap made it a lot easier! We have no idea what was up wit that car, the wheels were gone. It was kind of a sketchy area and won't be back to that spot again.

You got the best weather at the beach. We have been to the dock at Garabaldi and didn't have very much luck, however, we had fun. Those crabs were huge. My son went boat crabbing near Everett Washington waters. They all caught their limit. So many crabs.

Thank you and will do! We are hoping we can fish this coming weekend. The air quality is off the charts toxic right now so we have been staying inside. It has been really boring since we both are so used to being outdoors a lot.

That's such a beautiful area all I could think of when we were there is all the creeks in the mountains near there, We parked in a lot like that there and when we were coming back up from the beach we could see a dude looking in the back window of our rental he was in a camper like the one behind you at the end

Yeah, it was a bit sketchy at that place. Saw some people looking in the car and for sure it wasn’t theirs. We gathered our stuff and left. The people going through it were gone, but left it all open. It looked like it had been there awhile though. We have other concerns now with the wildfires rolling in. Our area was just issued level 1 evacuation out of 3. 3 means it’s time to go. So we are safe for now. Got stuff ready to go just to be safe. Going to wait it out tonight and check on things in the morning.

Nice video! I've always wanted to try crabbing off that pier! That jetty is tough... I've only ever caught a handful of fish off it, but I know other folks do well. Stay safe with the fires!

We had to postpone that fishing trip due to the current conditions. We made a mutual decision in order to make sure everyone safety is top priority. That trip will still happen, but just not when we said it would when we recorded the video.
