First time Grounded Player VS. Wolf Spider...

Hey Butch, just an FYI, not sure if you’ve scanned weed stems yet, if not, then have at least one on your shoulder and walk up to the scanner and scan it. You can build foundation pieces out of weed stems and you can place those weed stem foundation pieces under the floor of the upper portion of your base. Basic like building legs for the upper portion. If done correctly you’ll see the number 71 drop to 0 which is ideal, because if that stair get broken, not only does your structure come crashing down, but also anything your built and place up there and that too gets destroyed. So you want to make the supporting number as close to 0 as possible if you want to avoid the problems I just mentioned. Cheers

@@Corruption_realYT oh it's a bounce tower built at the spacr that is high enough to send weed stems down a Zipline to the top of the brawny bin. It's also got an accompanying platform that holds around 8.6k weed stems that I needed to build my mega mansion on top of the brawny bin. Don't worry, I reinforced the first few layers of the bounce tower. The 1072 is 2 jump pads up the tower

Hey Butch, great episode as always! It might as well be just cut from the episodes, but here are two non-spoiler tips about things you might have forgotten or just not realized or noticed yet: You can use resource surveyor not only for things like spicy shards, but also for bug parts. So if you select specific bug part that only drops from certain creatures, like spider fangs or venom, you easily locate wolf spiders or other creatures you might want to farm. Armors have set bonus if you have equipped all three matching pieces. You can see what the set bonus is under side effects on the bottom right side of your inventory screen. It's the yellow (during day UI) or green (during night UI) star icon. If you hover over it it will tell you what the set bonus does. Below is little bit spoiler-ish tip regarding stronger walls. Two of those you could have unlocked long time ago. The third one is unlocked later so I am not including it in in the spoiler, only the two that you could have already unlocked by now: You can analyze weed stems to unlock stem walls. Compared to palisade,they cost only 3 stems per wall instead of 8 but havle almost same defense. There are also two more wall types that are even stronger than palisade. One of them is unlocked way later, but the other one you can unlock right away. You need to utilize grinder, which you still havn't built yet. And then analyze one of the things you can craft in grinder.

Just a helpful tip for you, Butch. To save on resources, build a couple jerky racks and about 5 spinners. Jerky racks let you make berry leather slowly but at a less costly rate. It's 1:1 on a jerky rack whereas crafting it at a workbench is about 1:3 Same with the spinners. If you want to make a lot of crude rope for yourself, use the spinners as you'll be getting more and using up less plant fibres, which are important for a lot of other stuff.

Woohoo your first wolf spider! You'll fight tons of them so get used to it. The three most challenging enemies are... a secret. Black ox beetles and termites are the WEAKEST bugs in the upper yard.

Keep it up with the consistent progression and congrats on the Wolf Spider kill! preparing really does help in a lot of situations 22:06 - The easiest sources for tough gunk are ladybird larva and termites, which are pretty easy to kill once you get used to their attack patterns Make sure to equip Mithridatism (the mutation) when you fight a wolf spider again (or anything which inflicts poison) - it really helps to reduce poison damage Oh and one more little editing tip - the black ox beetle uses "Stronger Than You Think We Are" instead of "Harvesting" - I know i'm kind of complaining, but I think it'd be better for that to play if that isn't too much work

First time you kill a wolf spider in melee combat, it feels like you just cut Ivan Drago from Rocky 4 and that guy is screaming in your ear... _"He's worried! You cut him! You HURT him! You SEE?! HE'S NOT A MACHINE! HE'S A MAN!"_ For extra protection, make sure you activate your Mithridatism mutation to reduce the potency of their venom if you get hit.

They absolutely obliterate you if you're not equipped with the best gear, the good news is that you have to actively look for them, you'll never run into one roaming around. Also, I'd suggest making a grinder and grinding the red mushroom chunks, then researching the slurry. That unlocks some awesome new walls.

Plus, you can literally run past that one and ignore it if you've got the speed boost mutation

@operationorigami8962 1. running past the widow is an option but its hard without getting her attention 2. Ain't no way he's beating the black widow 1st try with preparation because he's likely not going to have a sour weapon and once she eats her children he'll be dead in a matter of seconds

You can use Brittle Quartzite shards to make Brittle whetstone, so you don't have to craft them using sap and larva spikes :) Quartzite have no other uses than to make whetstones.

If you go to the top of the grill where the two wolf spiders sleep, you can climb the rim of it and avoid the sizzle area. Also, if you build half stairs in your house doorway you wont have to jump.

If you’re at the charcoal grill spot you can just hop on the edge of the grill lid and run up to the upper level so you don’t have to damage yourself through the hot charcoal! Hope it helps

No spoilers, if you want goop for the mint mace and other creations down the line, you need not travel further than the level of the yard that the barbecue is. There is another way up there, explore the wall a little and you'll find it! One of my favorite weapons, it's the og tier 3!

Hey Butch. There is a ton of upgrade rocks and teeth in the trenches in the haze biome. If you get a piece of gum and climb to the top of the weed killer canister you can plug the leak and the zone becomes clear making it easier to collect all that sweet sweet loot. 😏

There is a tier 3 weapon in the lower yard that is pretty easy to obtain, it’s by the milk carton near the pond. You’ll need to build up to it and use a bomb if you’re interested.

with most weapons, you hit an enemy three times before not being able to attack for a short period of time if you block withing that period, it resets the animation, allowing you to start the three hits again, if you do this you can put out ALOT more damage.

Butch... instead of just adding another layer of wall look up how to honeycomb your structures. Instead of one layer of wall zig zag triangles out from the main wall. This way every section of wall requires the bugs to break two sections... otherwise only one out wall needs to be broken to gain access to the entire interior wall. By honeycombing walls if they break an other wall they only have access to a single interior wall if that makes sense.

There are 7 skeletons across the map with story information and drops on them and each one has a Badge Trinket that you can use, some of them are pretty useful. So there are 6 more badge trinkets for you to find!

The most challenging enemy is definitely the optional infected brood mother boss, located somewhere in the haze, I cannot recommend fighting it until beating the game.
