First Time Hand Lettering An Airplane

Hand drawn and hand painted signs on a 1936 Waco Aircraft. What a treat. Excited to share the experience with y'all here. I discuss materials such as paint and brushes, cleaning techniques, and the challenges of transferring a design onto the clothes surface of the plane and reaching over parts to paint. It is so cool that you got to paint an old airplane. I've been looking for advice on painting fabric. I'm an aircraft engineer in Canada here and I do alot of fabric work and want to start pinstripping/sign painting as a hobby.

@@nathanelmy6299 i haven't painted on a lot of fabric. There are certainly people out there that can give much better advice on that than I. In this case, the fabric was initially painted before I got to it, sprayed with painted customized for this application. My paint was on top of that paint.

Nice job! That turned out awesome! I'm having a hard time getting my lettering brushes too hold a chisel shape when loaded, but im trying to figure it out.

@@cadilakisrodcustom what brushes are you using. Many of them need a bit of time training them to hold a chisel.

I was told to wipe with a clean dry rag after wax and grease remover? Have you heard the same??
