I don't think Anthrax gets enough credit for their socially conscious stuff. Them and arguably Megadeath were very socially conscious with their lyrics. If I am not mistaken one of them has ties to Native Americans.

Problem is, it's not about the "big 4" b.s. It's About Anthrax, Crumbsuckers, Leeway, and Luduchrist. That right there made what hardcore music is all about today.

Let's gooooo! Anthrax! Part of the Big 4 of Thrash! Anthrax, Slayer, Metallica and Megadeth. These guy were thrash metal but alot more fun and groovy. They never took themselves seriously. Think Beastie Boys that play hard and fast lol. Staxxxxx. My boy. Super stoked you did this! Caught In A Mosh from Anthrax had to be coming soon! Much love bro!

Anthrax put out a few anti-racist songs back in the day, this one obviously about how Native Americans got treated. A couple other good rock songs about the mistreatment of American Indigenous People are: White Man by Queen, and Run To The Hills by Iron Maiden.

Amazing to picture Anthrax touring with Public Enemy with both kinds of fans in the crowd getting both shows and then Bring The Noise and everyone losing it to end the concert. Wish i would've caught it.

You know, that tour and the RATM & Wu-Tang tours would have been to kick ass shows to have caught back in the day considering the groups involved.

I was a fan of both groups. The show was awesome. What made it even better was it was four bands that toured together. Imagine seeing Public Enemy, Anthrax, Primus, and Young Black Teenagers on the same stage! I’m up in Canada on Vancouver Island, so I caught the stop in Vancouver. I’ve seen Public Enemy four times, I think. And twice Flavor Flav wasn’t let across the border. This tour was the first time I saw PE and luckily Flavor made it across the border that time. Hehe. It was the second time I saw Anthrax. The first time I saw them was actually their tour for this album here, and they opened for KISS. I met the band out behind the Pacific Coliseum in the afternoon before the show. The second time Flavor made it across the border I randomly ran into him and his two kids at the McDonakds near the theatre when I guess we all wanted lunch. 😂

Great band from a time when metal had actual singers. Weird to see Scott Ian with hair again. Try "Madhouse," "Among the Living," and "Be All, End All" along with the aforementioned "Caught in a Mosh." I had the pleasure of seeing these guys several times and their shows were always fun. I miss those days when 20 bucks meant a night of great music and friendly violent(ish) fun in the pit. Thx Staxx!

Had many copies on cassette of this I went through back in the day. I had a friend who thought they were being disrespectful in this song, from the "injun" on Joey Belladonna's hat to the war bonnet and I was like, "Dude, he's Native American and wrote the song. Try to listen.". Props to the band for taking the topic so, so seriously. This song kicks butt.

I love that Anthrax is still going strong after 40+ years. I'd say that a good 1/3rd of 'Thrax tracks are addressing some sort of social thing. If you really want your face melted off, try One Man Stands, which Scott wrote immediately after seeing the images of the lone man standing in front of the column of tanks rolling into Tiananmen Square. Or Keep It In The Family, where they address generational racism, learned and passed on by parents to their kids. I personally prefer the redone version of Family with John singing, but both versions will hit you in the head like a sledgehammer with their brutal head-on honesty and bluntness.

Cool thing is the Singer, Joey Belladonna is half Italian, half Iroquois Native American….he FELT this song & the traditional Native Headress looked great on him. I’m a history teacher & I have detailed every year how the Native Americans, particularly the Iroquois & Cherokee were robbed of their land with extreme prejudice….particularly from the Trail of Tears & the Indian Removal Act, enacted by Andrew Jackson & enforced by Martin Van Buren…they’re lucky that they weren’t charged with genocide, being that over 4000 natives were killed on that Trail of Tears 🤘🏽🤬🤘🏽

Continental genocide. What a travesty. Goes beyond the TRAIL OF TEARS. But this is why I love metal!! Metal will draw you in & tell you a story that will make you uncomfortable with a truth that is ugly, sad, & will make the youth raise their fists in a cohesive rebellious cacophony.
