Syn is a Guitar God!! He’s a monster! You should check out their song Buried Alive...also from this Nightmare album. It’s got a more slow melodic verse but heavy choruses and then it has a KILLER breakdown. Also check out their song The Stage, Synyster completely shreds his ass off on that song!! It’s EPIC!

The only easter eggs in this video are direct Jimmy the Rev references from the Afterlife video. The guitarist is Synyster Gates. He is still alive. The only one that died was the former drummer Jimmy. Avenged Sevenfold was found in the Bible in the book of Genesis and is reference to Cain and Abel.

To add on to a previous comment: The name "Avenged Sevenfold" refers to the punishment God gave to Cain after Cain killed Abel. When Cain made mention that because of his crime, other men would kill him, God said to him, "If any man kills you because of My punishment, I will avenge your death sevenfold." Basically, to be avenged that much was to say that if anyone interfered with a punishment given from God, he would take vengeance upon them, and wipe them out of existence (foreshadowing the "eye for an eye" punishment later). Originally, Avenged Sevenfold was a Christian band, but now I'm not so sure. But given names like Chapter Four (referring to Genesis Chapter Four) and The Beast and The Harlot (referenced in Revelation), there is a lot of Christian theology sprinkled throughout A7x's music.

Good description but not a christian band per se. They did use a lot of bible stories in their earlier works like Waking the Fallen and City of Evil but used it for imagery and entertainment rather than using it as a means to explicitly state their beliefs. They are not promoting either God nor the Devil if you look at their lyrics. P.S. They all went to catholic school and got kicked out apparently lol. So of course the bible was a big influence early on. Pretty sure they're agnostic or something like that.
