It's about their drummer The Rev. Those pictures at the end were all of him. He grew up with them since they were young kids. RIP.

The Drummer Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan passed away right before they dropped the Nightmare Album. The Rev had recorded parts of his vocals for the songs he was supposed to record. He was a huge part of the band and they were like brothers since they were kids. Definitely check out more of their stuff it’s a must. The Song Bat country made me love them.

This is a tribute song to the drummer Jimmy ( The Rev ) Sullivan who passed away due to an accidental overdose
@digitalchaos19803 жыл бұрын
Yes sir, such a tragic thing to happen. He was a hell of a drummer and a hell of a guy! This song to him is so beautiful, and it jams too! You can not only hear the raw emotion and sadness in M. Shadows' voice, but you can surely hear it in the guitar riffs as well. If I recall correctly, the song was actually written by Synyster Gates because The Rev was his best friend, although they were all friends, of course. And lastly, I love how they don't show the drummer in this video out of respect for Jimmy. This band has alot of heart and it has been a long time favorite of mine for a long time! RIP Jimmy Sullivan!

this song is a tribute to their original drummer James "Jimmy, The Rev" Sullivan as many have already pointed out, he died extremely young, he was only 28 years old, he had a inborn heart condition and doctors said that he would not see his 30th birthday, his reason of death was deemed overdose of oxycodone an opioid medicine. The last song that he recorded with the band, just a few days before his OD is Fiction from the album Nightmare, its a painfull but beautiful song, you should check it out.

Everyone in the band loved Jimmy like a Brother but Syn, the lead guitarist, seemed to have something a little more. This was the first time he wrote all the lyrics by himself... 🤘🤘 Fiction is something else, very emotional, and seemingly a goodbye note from Jimmy. It's the last lyrics he wrote and the last of his vocals recorded for this album 😭
