This is from their first album, released in 1974. It also has “Bad Company”, “Ready For Love”, “Can’t Get Enough” and “Don’t Let Me Down” among others. I remember this coming out when I was in high school, and practically wearing out my 8-track because all the songs were so good. They’re still holding up 50 years later! ❤️

Paul Rodgers wrote this song when he was on the beach, he saw a seagull flying by and he wanted to recreate the feeling of that moment. Hence the light breezy guitar, no drums or bass, relaxing feel.

There were a lot of great bands before Bad Company, and I have certainly wanted to buy pretty much every one of their albums/CD's, but Bad Company was the first. I had to have everything. I am always surprised at how little acclaim they get. Oh, people know and love them, but not enough people speak of them the way you do. Thanks for that deeper dive. There are so many more.

Great song from the amazing Paul Rodgers. One of the very best rock vocalists ever and as adept on acoustic or electric guitar, he can play anything and has on album (On solo classic Cut Loose, he plays everything, vocals, guitars, bass, keyboards, drums).
