One of my favorite bands!! Other greats from them, "Take My Breath Away" from the Top Gun soundtrack, No More Words, Masquerade, Sex (I'm A...), Dancing In Berlin, and Now It's My Turn. Fun Fact about Terri Nunn, she is also an actress and starred in the movie Thank God It's Friday as well as some tv shows from the late 70s/early 80s.

I got to see them in Pittsburgh! Was a good time when they were about to do their second encore. The crowd is chanting Sex! The security guards looked frightened

You nailed it: new wave synth pop. Berlin had some fantastic tunes back in the 80's. And a wee bit of trivia: the lead vocalist, Terri Nunn, auditioned for the role of Princess Leia in the original Star Wars movie when she was 17. Carrie Fisher landed the part at 19, and the rest is history.

Great song, great band and Terri Nunn is a fantastic singer. Her relationship with legendary LA DJ Richard Blade fueled many of her lyrics. A movie/biopic about their story was actually just announced last week. Check out more Berlin!

This is 100% my favorite 80s sound. Berlin has many hits including "Take My Breath Away" which is on the "Top Gun" soundtrack. I saw Berlin live in 2018 and the singer has the same voice. It hasn't aged and the quality is just like the recording.

An interesting song. For all its bouncy synth pop, it's a sad song. Listening to the lyrics and picturing the story, the bookend strikes me - why is she sitting alone in her room, holding a broken glass? What's the broken glass for? It gives me chills.

your next berlin songs are "no more words", "sex (i'm a...)", and "now it's my turn". early berlin is fantastic. when they agreed to do "take my breath away" for the TOP GUN soundtrack is the straw that broke the band up. fun fact: lead singer terri nunn auditioned for the role of princess leia. she screen tested with harrison ford. it didn't go well lol. i also remember her on an episode of the tv show BARNABY JONES and the late '70s movie THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY with donna summer.

Berlin started in 1976 as a brainchild of John Crawford. He hired vocalist Toni Childs who was substituted by Terri Nunn after a short time. While recording the album Pleasure Victim in 1982 drummer Rod Learned who was a new born Christian got up and left. Nobody saw until VH1 Bands Reunited in 2004. After the failure of their fourth album the band broke up. Terri Nunn retained the legal rights to the band name and toured under the Berlin name. After VH1 Bands Reunited in 2004 John Crawford and keyboard player David Diamond rejoined the band
