I wanted to leave a comment for a band suggestion you should make a reaction video for next. after I saw some video on your channel, it seems you also need to get to know them. they are Voice of Baceprot, a heavy metal rock band female trio from Indonesia. they have already made their trip for shows in europe 2 times in 2021 and 2022 and performed at wacken open air. I recommend you react to their singles like, God Allow me please to play music, School Revolution, Not public Property, and PMS (Perempuan Merdeka Seutuhnya or Women are completely free in English). or you can also react to the songs they have cover like enter sandman, sabotage, or got the time. You can also watch them live like when they appear at the Rennes, Wacken, or Pasiwali festivals. I hope my recommendations reach you and you can make reaction videos in the future. ❤️❤️

15 years ago: Sunday morning. I was in my library, still in my dressing gown, having done some work and before breakfast randomly surfing through KZbin when my then 2 1/2 year old daughter stood in the doorway: "Dad, what are you doing?" she asked. "Hearing some music." I replied. "Wanna listen too?" She nodded and came to sit on my lap. I had just opened Engel from Rammstein. 'Quite a bit to chew upon for a 2 1/2 year old' I thought to myself, but well - guess I just have to cuddle and comfort her a little harder. I pressed play and we listened to the whole song with the volume quite turned up (as it should be with Rammstein) from the opening whistle to the closing one. Silence. I twas begging that the crying wouldn't start, yet fearing it would - any second. "That was a pretty song, daddy!" ("Das war ein schönes Lied, Papa!") with emphasis on 'pretty' my 2 1/2 year old princess smiled into my face! She'll be 18 in July. She still loves Rammstein!

Rammstein always have elaborate stage shows. Those wings were like 65kg (143lbs). Till, the singer, complained that they would cut of his circulation from the shoulderstraps. So they had to drop those wings for later shows. Still always a treat to watch Rammstein

I'm a bit of a live music junkie, and Rammstein is easily the best live show you'll ever see. *Sigh of relief* - thank god it was something other than Du Hast. Rammstein has a lot of interesting sounds they've experimented with over the years. Of the many memorable musical moments that stick out to me from this band, one of my favorites is this xylophone part during this song called "Spieluhr." Or the strings that open the same album that's one during "Mein Herz Brennt." I love "Mutter" as an album- they weren't afraid to experiment more than usual on that one, and as the other bands I'm into lately are leaning all the way into blending genres, I think it's cool how we're revisiting a band that wasn't afraid to far earlier on. So many branches on the musical tree!

Yep, Rammstein is challenging. And their lyrics can be very striking (it's always good idea to check their songs with lyrics). Either way, prepare yourself to have your boundaries be pushed (sometimes to the extreme). If you want to check something really interesting from them (and not that challenging), please check both videos to Mein Herz Brennt 1) the official video and 2) the piano version (in this order). You will see an insane lvl of depthless, dramaturgy and performance.

Wherever Rammstein performs in the world, fans can sing along with the German lyrics. Even in France. The band is known for its sensational live performances. The song singer, Till Lindemann, is a trained pyrotechnician and uses his knowledge a lot during the shows. What you might think is blood on his arm is a protective gel against the flames. Fun fact: The keyboardist runs on a treadmill and covers about 16 miles during a concert.😁😁😁😁😁 BTW the wing package he is wearing weighs 65 kg , about 150 pounds

Hello there from Germany. Nice reaction. I've been a fan of them for a long time. Actually this song was the 1st song that drew my attention to them. Would like to see you doing more reaction to this fantastic artists. Great you checked out the translated lyrics. Most of the songs are witten in poetry style and can be hard to decifer what the song is really about, which is so much fun to dive into them. A lot of songs touch on taboo topics in western society and the band is known for not holding back. Some are based on true events. So be aware that most times it's not pleasant, but the band stays real. With love from Germany 🤘🏻 😎

The look on your face totally shows you thoroughly enjoyed this live performance as you should have. This is my favorite song by Rammstein! The whistle to me gives the song an ethereal tone/feel. The female vocals go right through me almost angelic no pun intended. The pyrotechnics are done by the lead singer Till as that's what he did for a living before Rammstein took off I believe. Hey Amanda, welcome to the Rammstein rabbit hole 😉 As you go on, you'll see that they are very diverse when it comes to lyrics, music, videos and live shows. Speaking of live shows, don't visit one if you are afraid of fire, because the will literally set EVERYTHING on fire: the stage, themselves, a whole stadium...(Lead singer Till is a certified pyro tec, so everything is safe 😉) As mentioned, you can understand many of their songs in at least 2 ways. My personal interpretation of "Engel" is as following: People tend to see only the public face of an actor, a pop star, a politician or whatever. They idolize them and forget that they are human beings, too, with all the bad sides a human can have. The line "God knows, I don't want to be an Angel" for me is saying they don't want to be idolized, they are just 6 guys playing in a band but besides that are not different from their fans. In fact, at the end of every show they thank the audience and go on their knees on stage to show respect for them, which also lead me to that interpretation. My suggestions for Rammstein videos would be "Ich will" (about people doing everthing to be famous and the media helping them), "Zick Zack" (about being obsessed with beauty and plastic surgery), "Angst" (about a society in fear), "Mein Herz brennt" (about childhood nightmares still haunting you as an adult), "Deutschland" (a wild ride through germany's history and the band's ambivalent relationship to their home country) and "Adieu", a very touching goodbye song. When it comes to live shows, have a look at "Mein Teil" live at Hurricane Festival 2016 (Be warned: it's about a case of canibalism that took place in germany in the early 2000s), "Feuer frei" in Moscow or "Rammstein" in St. Petersburg. As you can see in my song list, they often sing about the dark side of humans or put the finger on society topics that are ugly, but important. As a bonus, listen to the piano version of "Mein Herz brennt"! It's just a piano and Till's incredible bariton voice and even if you don't understand a word, it will touch your soul, I promise! Greetings from germany! 🤘

A few little details to help with some context: Yes, the keyboard player was on a treadmill during that and many other gigs. Lead singer Till Lindemann and at least one other member of the band are qualified pyrotechnicians. The Rammstein stage show always features much fire and pyro, to the extent that the venues they can play are limited by pyrotechnics licences. Incidentally, the subtitles translated "Himmel" as "sky", but the word also means "Heaven".

For an industrial metal band, Rammstein also have a lot of these hauntingly beautiful ballads that touch your soul, like Ohne Dich, Seemann, Nebel, Ein Lied, Mein Herz Brennt (piano version), Frühling In Paris, Diamant, Adieu, Zeit (though the official video can be a bit much at times, the song itself is gorgeous) and I'm sure I'm forgetting quite a few still. I also like their darker stuff and their funny side as well. Their videos especially lately have been more like short films and works of art and their live shows are on a completely different level from anyone else. Nobody does fire and fireworks like Rammstein do. Good luck with discovering this phenomenal band and Till's poetry. 🖤

The song lyrics are written by singer Till Lindemann, who has been writing poetry since childhood. In addition to almost all the song lyrics, he also published three books of poetry. He is the son of the children's book author Werner Lindemann, with whom he did not have a good relationship. Like all other band members, he grew up in Soviet-controlled part of Germany, the GDR. Therefore none of the band members has anything to do with religion. In the GDR, music was checked and censored by the state if it was dangerous for the dictatorship. That's why Rammstein uses many metaphors and double meanings in their lyrics, which leave a lot of room for interpretation. The band itself rarely makes clear statements about the intention of the songs. The song Engel was the first song I heard from Rammstein. Since then (for 25 years) I am a fan of the band. Your Reaction was great and I hope you react to wide songs of Rammstein. I have been thinking for a long time which song I recommend to you. As a fan there is no bad song for me, but the song "Spieluhr (Music Box)" should be interesting for you.

Love the reaction and if you are going to do more Rammstein don't forget to look up backgrounds and translations for the songs. Du Hast for example is a more complex song than it seems and without knowing the double meaning of the main word Hast [have/hate] you won't get the full meaning of the song.

I've been a Rammstein fan since I first saw them open for KMFDM in 1997. They are easily one of, if not THE greatest live band of all-time. This song doesn't eve scratch the surface of the amount of pyrotechnics that their shows contain. Nice reaction. 👍 If you want to see more of Rammstein's (incredible) live performances I would suggest (in this sequence) Rammlied (live from Madison Square Garden) Du hast (live from Paris) Sonne (live at Rock im Park 2017) Links 2 3 4 (live from Madison Square Garden) Ich will (live from Hurricane Festival 2016) Ich tu dir weh (live from Madison Square Garden) (don't take the lyrics too serious) Amazing official videos Sonne (Sun) heavy, screwed up fairy-tale Links 2 3 4 (left) partly heavy march Ich will (I want) heavy, simple, way to celebrity Spring! (Jump!) (animated version with english subtitles) slow, partly heavy, very dark sarcasm! Radio (Radio) catchy song (with serious background) Newest official videos from their last album "Zeit" in sequence of the tracks on the album: Zeit (Time) slow, dark, melancholic, emotional Zick Zack (Snip Snap) catchy song, sarcastic, funny Angst (Fear) very Rammstein, scary, credits at the end are helpful to understand the message Dicke Titten (Big Boobs) heavy (most of the time), catchy, funny, credits are funny too (my view) Adieu (Goodbye) dark, sometimes heavy, emotional Last but not least the great (but not nice) video "Deutschland" which has a lot of references to (mostly unpleasent) parts of German history. Video, lyrics, and sound are great (my view) and work very well together. For many of Rammstein's videos there are English subtitles available. To find a lot of them, you may search on KZbin for: "educated marine rammstein" + songname For live videos of Rammstein songs, www.youtube.com/@Bucksttabu/playlists is a good source. In case of Rammstein, precise translations of the lyrics is hard work (and sometimes not possible in subtitles), because they are playing many times with double meanings of words or slightly modify common German expressions and symbolic language pictures to invert or change their meanings. Till Lindemann, the lead singer, is quite shy and kind of an introvert. That's why he began to use pyro to kinda hide behind those impressive effects.

Greetings and Love from Germany 💚 Holy Moses, Rammstein was reached to you..thats perfect for you, my dear. They go very deep and aren't afraid to write Songs bout bad issues, bout cruelty events, bout tabu's, cause no other have the guts to do it. Sadwise Rammstein is very often missunderstood. And often blamed to be gloryfeing violence, rape, hate crimes. No, they are not. Most people don't want to know anything about it, they prefer to keep quiet about such things. These ignoramuses don't even know that they are not helping the victims and are also hurting them a lot. Anyway, I hope to see more Rammstein from you... PEACE and stay safe ✌

Translation Engel Who was good in life on earth Will become an angel after death The look towards the sky you ask then Why one can’t see them Only when the clouds fall asleep One can see us at the sky We have fear and we are alone God knows I do not want to be an angel They live behind sunshine Seperated from us endlessly wide They have to cling to the stars (real tight) So that they don’t fall from the sky

Thanks for this, Rammstein mix devastating insight with filthy humour which can sometimes overshadow how good the writing is. Engel sums up why I don't find the idea of our loved ones being angels (very common in baby loss community) comforting at all. I know a lot of people will say Zeit is another must listen, one of my favourites is an early one Herzeleid which sounds horrible in all the right ways but has a heartbreaking message underpinning it.

I really enjoyed your take on the song, thoughtful and insightful as always. When I try to think from Til's point of view, I imagine that being an icon in one of the world's biggest most famous bands may have had a big role in the creation of the lyrics. He obviously likes to put on a big show with the band, but he doesn't want to be a hero, celebrity or superstar. He just wants the freedom to be himself without being isolated, worshipped and put on a pedestal separate from others, separate from life.

You had such a great, genuine reaction to this video and I really enjoyed watching it. I listen to just about every sub genre of metal and have been to ridiculous amount of concerts. As much as I love Rammstein, I've seen several bands live whose music I like more, but as far as a concert experience as a whole goes, NOBODY comes even close to when I saw Rammstein at Metlife Stadium during their North American Stadium Tour. The showmanship and pyrotechnics were out of this world. And some of their songs like this, "Sonne", "Meinn Hertz Brent" etc, are really beautiful to begin with but seeing/hearing them live makes it even better. If you ever get the chance to see them live at a setting where they can use full pyrotechnics and stuff, I wholeheartedly recommend doing so. I guarantee you won't be disappointed

soo fun fact about Till Lindeman (vocalist) Before Rammstein, he was training to be an olympic swimmer and he also suffered from extreme stage fright which is why they have all the pyrotechnics in their shows. He felt that if they had all the pyro, the crowd would focus more on that which would mean less eyes on him. The band also got their pyrotechnics licenses to legally do their own pyro. I could be wrong on this, but I believe I read somewhere that no pyrotechnicians wanted to take the job due to the shear amount of pyro the band wanted, so they literally went "Fine, we'll do it ourselves." and so they did. At 1 point they were banned from the US for multiple reasons, 1 of which I believe was overuse of pyrotechnics. People would leave their concerts suffering heat stroke from all the fire they would use.

I saw them at the Globe thingy in Stockholm, the golfball-looking arena. I was like diametrically across from the stage in the furthest away nosebleed section, yet I still felt the heat of the fire against my face. Loads of fire.

This was the first big hit of Rammstein back in 1995 maybe. I remember watching this on TV and saying this is a nice new metal sound. (To tell the truth Rammsteins sound is not that unique or new, it has its inspirations and roots in Ministry, Laibach and die Krupps, which are also great bands). But after that I became a major Rammstein fan I have seen them 4 times and will attend their show this summer. Some of Rammstein songs tell of horrible things and some of them are also very deep (Deutschland, Donaukinder, Angst), so overall they are a great band and their live shows are amaizing :)

I absolutely love your analyses and seeing "live" your processing of substantive art. Looking forward to you getting further chances to delve into Rammstein's oeuvre. They do really lean into an aggressive delivery of their native language, juxtaposed with complex and poetic lyrics, just as the music is gritty and aggressive while overlaying truly beautiful melodies. You hit the nail on the head.

Rammstein always have awesome videos, but their live shows are even beyond these. Here are some suggestions: "Sonne" (Live at Download Festival 2016) --> Hot as the name giving sun (Sonne = Sun) "Ich tu Dir weh" (Hurricane Festival / Rammstein Official) --> Great singing and insane stage action towards the end) "Mein Teil" (Live Hurricane Festival 2013) --> Read the story behind the song (a real case of cannibalism!) first „Wollt Ihr das Bett in Flammen Sehn" (Paris Version) --> Pyro Fashion, power, everything that Rammstein stands for "Benzin" (Madison Square Garden) --> Benzin = Gasoline --> burns well. And maybe also a man? There are of course a lot more insane live videos of them: "Links 2,3,4", Engel, "Mann gegen Mann", "Mutter", "Feuer Frei", "Ich will", ... Have fun and rock on! Paris is more a concert movie with post production and released as Directors Cut“. You have to be aware that here a German band is playing in Paris / New York and the French / American audience is singing along in German. Music can unite! :-) From their current album there are no official live videos so far. There are five videos out: „Zeit“ (time) „Angst“ (Fear) Zick Zack Dicke Titten (Big Boobs) "Adieu" For me „Zeit“ and „Angst“ are real masterpieces regarding the videos, lyrics and songs. „Adieu“ is another masterpiece. For this video is very helpful to know Rammstein and also their videos. Or to read afterwards the comments of Rammstein fans. :-) „Dicke Titten“ is really cool, Zick Zack is for my personal taste the weakest of the songs regarding the music. The video itself is crazy and hilarious.
