Billy is 74 and still giving amazing performances. He’s a great composer, lyricist, singer and an amazing piano player. You can’t go wrong with any of his songs. He does all types of music. His performance of “New York State of Mind” from the Old Grey Whistle test in 1978 is outstanding. The “Piano Man”, “The Longest Time”, “Uptown Girl” and “River of Dreams” videos are worth a watch too. Really enjoyed your reaction.

A lot of Billy Joel's videos are very theatrical and unique. He's an amazing song writer, pianist and showman/performer. Hope you'll check out more!! These videos are pretty cool too: Tell Her About It, Matter of Trust, Pressure, We Didn't Start The Fire, Scenes From An Italian Restaurant (also this song is one of the best showcases of his piano playing). Also Innocent Man is beautiful and so is Goodnight Saigon.

A very faithful reaction 👨‍⚖👩‍⚖! Keeping The Faith was released as the sixth single from Billy Joel's 1983 album: An Innocent Man. It was written by Billy Joel. It was produced by Phil Ramone. The song reached #3 on the Adult Contemporary chart and #18 on the Hot 100. The music video was directed by Howard Deutch and featured Christie Brinkley, Richard Pryor, Joe Piscopo and Richard B Shull. The song is an autobiographical song about Billy Joel's teenage years, with him reminiscing about the 1950s and 1960s lifestyle. Billy Joel told SiriusXM in 2016 that this song was kind of his way of explaining. Billy Joel said that he did the song because he "owe[s] a great debt to that time in his life" and "to the wild guys he used to hang out with and the old rock and roll" that really inspired him. Yes, he has a very solid singing voice. He's still performing live on stage in 2023. When VH1's Pop-Up Video covered the music video: Keeping The Faith, they made some jokes at his then wife Christie Brinkley's expense. An angry Billy Joel contacted the show about what he perceived as the harsh treatment meted out at her, adding that his daughter was being teased at school because of their wisecracks. As a result, VH1 pulled the entire episode featuring Billy Joel's video from their schedule. The song has been featured in some films including 📽: A Family Thing (1996) and Step Brothers (2008). Billy Joel Info 📰: William "Billy" Joel was on born May 9, 1949 in The Bronx, New York. He is a singer, pianist and songwriter. His musical influences include: Duke Ellington, Aaron Copland, Frédéric Chopin, Claude Debussy, Ludwig van Beethoven, George Gershwin, Dave Brubeck, Ray Charles, Otis Redding, The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix. Commonly nicknamed the "Piano Man" after his signature 1973 song of the same name, he has had a successful music career as a solo artist since the 1970s. From 1971 to 1993, he released twelve studio albums that spanned the genres of Pop and Rock music, and in 2001 released a one-off studio album of classical music compositions. He is one of the world’s best-selling music artists and the fourth-best-selling solo artist in the United States, with over 160 million records sold worldwide. His 1985 compilation album: Greatest Hits Volume I & Volume II, is one of the best-selling albums in the United States. Born in New York City, in The Bronx, Billy Joel grew up on Long Island, New York. Growing up, he took piano lessons at his mother's insistence. After dropping out of high school to pursue a music career, he took part in two short-lived bands: The Hassles and Attila, before signing a record deal with Family Productions and starting off a solo career in 1971 with his first album release: Cold Spring Harbor. In 1972, Joel caught the attention of Columbia Records after a live radio performance of the song "Captain Jack" became popular in Philadelphia, prompting him to sign a new record deal with the company and release his second album: Piano Man, in 1973. After releasing the albums: Streetlife Serenade (1974) and Turnstiles (1976), Billy Joel released his critical and commercial breakthrough album: The Stranger, in 1977. This album became Columbia's bestselling release, selling over 10 million copies and spawning several hit singles, including: "Just The Way You Are", "Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)", "Only The Good Die Young", and "She's Always A Woman". The album also contains the popular tracks: "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant", Billy Joel's favorite of his own songs which has become a firm staple of his live shows, and "Vienna", also one of Billy Joel's personal favorites, and nowadays one of his most streamed songs on the internet. Billy Joel's next album: 52nd Street, was released in 1978 and it soon became his first album to peak at No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Billy Joel released his seventh studio album: Glass Houses, in 1980 in an attempt to further establish himself as a Rock artist; this release featured "It's Still Rock And Roll To Me" (his first single to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart), "You May Be Right", "Don't Ask Me Why", and "Sometimes A Fantasy". His next album: The Nylon Curtain (1982), stemmed from a desire to create more lyrically and melodically ambitious music. His album: An Innocent Man" (1983), served as a homage to genres of music which Billy Joel had grown up with in the 1950s, such as Rhythm And Blues and Doo-Wop; this release featured the songs: "Tell Her About It", "Uptown Girl" and "The Longest Time", three of his best-known songs. After releasing the albums: The Bridge (1986) and Storm Front (1989), Billy Joel released his twelfth studio album: River Of Dreams, in 1993. That was his last studio for many years until he released the album: Fantasies And Delusions, in 2001. The album featured classical compositions composed by Billy Joel and performed by British-Korean pianist Richard Hyung-ki Joo. Billy Joel has also provided voiceover work in 1988 for the Disney animated film: Oliver & Company, in which he played the character Dodger with his song: "Why Should I Worry?", and contributed to the soundtracks to several different films, including: Easy Money (1983), Ruthless People (1986) and Honeymoon In Vegas (1992). Across the years of his solo career, Billy Joel produced 33 self-penned Top 40 hits in America, three of which: "It's Still Rock And Roll to Me", "Tell Her About It" and "We Didn't Start The Fire", reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Since the advent of his solo career, Billy Joel has had a successful touring career, holding live performances across the globe. In 1987, he became one of the first artists to hold a Rock tour in the Soviet Union following the country's alleviation of the ban on Rock music. Though Billy Joel has not released a studio album since 2001 (Fantasies & Delusions), he continues to occasionally tour or perform one-off concerts in 2023. Awards, Honors And Achievements 🏅: Billy Joel graduated well after his 1967 high school graduating class peers because of a missed English exam.
