I have always loved this song, it makes me feel melancholy and restless at the same time and I get very introspective when I hear it. Then that guitar solo kicks in and I just rock out for a bit!!

The guitar solo is quite a journey. Yes something has to move.

Hey Ace, not quite sure I'd go in the direction of Nirvana, but maybe more towards "Lynyrd Skynyrd", "Marshall Tucker Band" and even "Brooks & Dunn" when you said country that was very musically intuitive because you can hear elements of country music mixed in, and that makes sense. We are talking about the South that is where southern-rock and country music originated. I think you are progressing wonderfully, and I hope you're still enjoying your Ole' School music journey, it seems you have a good ear for music. Here's another song by Blackfoot, if interested. "Blackfoot - Diary of a Workingman (audio)" I enjoyed rocking with you, Ace. Thanks for sharing. 💯🎶

I love that Nirvana song you're referring to. And I love how right after the part that you're humming, it just out of nowhere sticks in these lyrics about, and I swear that I don't have a gun, don't have a gun, don't have a gun. Or something like that, laugh. Blackfoot is predominantly a Native American band which is kind of rare in the Rock scene at that level. Frontman Rickey medlocke had a tremendous voice and he was a great guitar player and a great drummer and he played and even sang some lead vocals for Lynyrd Skynyrd early on. And he was from Jacksonville Florida and friends with all those boys. This iconic mid 70s Blackfoot album, Strikes, came out literally decades before Nirvana, but I think it's interesting that you drew a connection,

Medlocke played the guitar solo in freebird last summer with johnnie. He did so well. Never knew Blackfoot was native American.

Another kick-ass Southern Rock band from Jacksonville, Florida. Of course the grandaddy of them all, Lynyrd Skynyrd. Some others include Blackfoot, Molly Hatchet and .38 Special.

Blackfoot got its name to represent the American Indian heritage of its members: Jakson Spires (from Oklahoma) had a Cheyenne/French father and a Cherokee mother; Rickey Medlocke's father was Lakota Siou] and Blackfoot Indian, and his mother's side is Creek/Cherokee, Scottish and Irish; Greg "Two Wolf" Walker is part Eastern (Muskogee) Creek, a tribe recognized by the state of Florida, but not federally. Charlie Hargrett was the only white man of the original, classic line-up.

The Blackfoot album Strikes came out in 1979. Rickey Medlocke the singer, writer, guitarist, and founder of the band, left many years ago to play guitar for Lynyrd Skynyrd. Rickey was actually a former member of Skynyrd on their second album. He left Skynyrd back then to start Blackfoot.

I love your music choices but I hate your over the top enthuiasm. I do wish you would settle down and get more comfortable with goodness. I have a problem with trust as you can see. How can I know you don't learn these songs and then react ? Just curious. Being nieve and ignorant seems to be the new normal in my world. Just askin'

I think maybe you're getting over the top with your criticism. Don't know brother/sister, but hey, let things go. Hope all goes well for you. Edit: And if you don't like it, you don't have to listen. Everyone has that choice.
