This is Stephen Gately's song, when he passed, the world lost an angel and his voice.. Tied for best boyband with Westlife.. 💖
@nitinbhatnagar6085 Жыл бұрын
Westlife came to the scene after 5 or 6 years but surpassed the boyzone pretty fast And ronan Keating used to manage Westlife for some time ... One more thing...Westlife used to do opening acts for boyzone and back Street boys before they were a real thing

Stephen Gately came out to the public not too long after this was released. So when he sings "i cant deny what I believe, i cant be what Im not" feels, to me anyway, pretty powerful.

Awesome song, the powerful voice is that of Ronan Keating who has sold 30 million albums with Boyzone and about 25 million with his solo work. Huge hit with the cover of “ When you say nothing at all” used in a movie called Notting Hill

I'm pretty disparaging about boybands in general, but I'll fangirl over Ronan Keating and this song to the end of time. One of the most beautiful songs ever written. RIP to Stephen who came out when being gay was not as accepted as it is now, but I remember how nice it was that he was supported by the other guys in the band.

Great song. One of the members, Stephen, died years ago, such a shame! U have to try boyzone/ westlife no matter what,. They sing together live this song as a tribute to Stephen. Ronan Keating was very shocled when Stephen passed away. I was at that church, from the funeral from Stephen, when Ronan held his speech about him,, he brokr down and cried. This got me. The whole town listen to that speech over speakers. Just everyone had tears in their eyes😭😭😭

I love Boyzone. 'Love You Anyway' 'Better,' 'Picture of you.' Love the video with Me Bean. If you do 'Gave It All Away' you will hear some of Stephen's vocals because he has started to work on it. But then he suddenly died and it became a tribute to him. The video is clips of Stephen and the sadness of the other members. Shane and Stephen seemed such great friends. Stephen is the first one to sing in this video.

As an Irishman, I have to say, bar U2 and Westlife, Boyzone were one of the biggest and most loved bands to come from the Emerald Isle. Obviously, I'm probably more a U2, Van Morrison, Undertones and Boomtown Rats fan, but what a lovely song this is. Its from the musical Whistle Down The Wind by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Meatloaf writer Jim Steinman (but you probably googled that or knew it already). All that said, I've always had a soft spot for Boyzone, must admit. Nice. Glad you liked and were surprised. Boyzone are far more talented than yer average boy band of that time for sure.

I love Boyzone. I have a lot of very fond memories of when me and my mum went to see their farewell tour a couple of years ago. No Matter What is their finest song but they have quite a few bops to their name!

Boyzone started around the same time as take that.they are Keith Duffy(brunette,tied back hair), Stephen Gately(baby face lead singer), Mikey Graham(the blonde backing singer), Ronan Keating(blonde lead singer,later solo), and Shane Lynch(the tattooed one). Shane has 2 sisters who formed half of band bewitched. stephen died of acute pulmonary edema after a night out in Majorca with his hubby.he didn't know he had it.the other band members got a black and grey superman tattoo with his birth and death year(76,09) under it to remember him. Stephen had a song called I believe used for the end credits of film Billy Elliot.

I love Ronan Keatins voice maybe you could look into some of his solo work it turned out very successful but I'd also love more of Boyzone, even though I love George you have made me listen to music I'd forgotten about, I lost my eldest son in 205 he was 16 his name is Luis and I couldn't listen to any music without crying cos he loved music so much that a lot of these songs remind me of him singing along to them I didn't even listen to George for a long time, I'm so glad I came across your channel cos I can finally enjoy music thankyou Bryson 😊♥️

Have you ever heard of Canadian band Soul Decision? Kind of a boy band, but unusual for the time as they wrote a lot of their own stuff, and played instruments. Most popular mid-90s to early 2000s. Try "Let's Do It Right" or "No One Does It Better" for the romantic stuff, "Faded" or "Ooh It's Kinda Crazy" for a more upbeat sound. The lead singer, Trevor Guthrie, you may already know as the vocalist on "This is What It Feels Like" by Armin van Buuren. He has done a number of collaborations.

Glad you finally checked Boyzone out. This was an amazing song of theirs, great arrangement and vocals, and you're right Ronin Keating has an amazing voice. They were formed as an Irish Take That, who were huge at that time, and I remember at the time girls going wild over them. This song, I believe, was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Jim Steinman the their musical Whistle Down The Wind, so I think we can see why it was a great song. Fun fact, Robin Keating managed Westlife along with Louis Walsh. I would definitely check out their versions of Love Me For A Reason and Father And Son, as well as maybe Everyday I Love You and I Love The Way You Love Me. The more poppy songs Picture of You and All That You Need are also great shouts. Lastly Stephen Gately, one of the two main lead vocalists (he sings the first lines in this song), and I think one of the first pop stars to come out as openly gay, passed away unexpectedly in 2009 from an undiagnosed heart condition, so RIP Stephen, your up there singing with the angels in heaven!!!

You should also check out Wet Wet Wet, a Scottish band, who I think you're love. They are a bit more of a conventional pop band, but I think you'd love their music too. They were around about the same time, maybe slightly before Boyzone.

@@mattpotter8725 Wet Wet Wet were an 80s band. It was Jim Steinman (composer) and Tim Rice (Lyricist). Wet Wet Wet in the 80s always had the summer, sunshine sound. They always remind me of the school summer hols.

OOooh I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on that one, for sure. It's absolutely my favorite song of all time; These "boyz" were my first band I absolutely adored (started following them in 1996). This song helped me through so much bullying when I was a teenager (I'm in my 40s). Stephen was my favorite from the start and my heart broke when he passed away. The band tried to keep going after that, because they thought it was the right thing to do, but it never felt the same for them and the missing piece was too much, they called it a day a couple of years ago. Ronan Keating (the blond one who's singing most of the song) still does music and I absolutely adore him, too (although I have a bone to pick with him, as he's never coming to France for shows and stuff anymore, but the bugger still comes for leisure, go figure...). Keith Duffy is doing a duo with Brian McFadden who was in Westlife until he quit... they've named themselves Boyzlife... Mikey and Shane are doing whatever they're doing, just living their lives and being their old selves, I guess. haha sorry for the essay... told ya I adore them :)

What the future holds, Something in your eyes, Heartbreak in this city featuring Michelle Visage and my all time fave (but it was not a single) called Father's eyes.... The album came out in 2020 and literally saved my year. Really will keep my fingers crossed. Look out for the key changes. They are masters at that and harmonies 👌❤️
