Ronnie Dunn and Craig Wiseman shared the song of the year award for the Brooks & Dunn hit, “Believe.” Dunn recalled, “I was in my barn last year, and this guy comes crashing through the door with this idea for a song. He had the chorus written, and I just sat him down on the sofa and put a notepad on the coffee table and hung on while he channeled.” Dunn added, “So many people went out on a limb to push this song. So many people went beyond the call of duty.” Edit: No where have i found anything that either of them say its a singular true event that happened to either of them. FACTS..East TN here. I remember coming home from 7th grade 1 day asking my mom what a honkey is and she said " oh honey it's just silly jokes just laugh at about it" mt parents would not mention racism or that such existed etc. I only had like maybe 4 white friends n all my friends in the neighborhood were black. My brother from another mother is black...he basically lived with me. He had to drive up my driveway to get to his house right behind me. We told everyone were brothers n he called my parents mom n dad. I miss those days. RIP Mrs Taylor!!

I sang this song for a patient in the eye clinic. He heard me singing to myself while waiting on the doctor to come in. I told him I am a belter so it would be loud. He said please it sounded pretty. So I sang it for him. Miss Amber said that about him getting to see his loved ones. My mom died of a brain tumor in 2017. I had to tell her she was gonna die. The way I made it ok for her is that I told her you will get to see Teresa and daddy. Teresa was a baby she lost as a stillborn way before I was born. I grew up going to her grave to make sure it was cleaned up. It worked for her. Then I excused myself, went outside and screamed a primordial scream. Now I wait for the day I get to see her again. She was the bomb. Everyone thought so not just me. God bless yall

This song reminds me of my neighbor dying several years back, everytime I hear it. We live out in the country and real country folks are always neighborly and look after each other. About 25 years ago I moved here and my friend , an older retired black gentleman and I became really close friends and neighbors. We met at the fence and talked for hours at a time about the garden and family. We shared veggies from the garden and we talked constantly about anything and everything. Unexpectedly one day his daughter called me to the fence and she said " I hate to have to tell you this but daddy died"". I was left speechless monetarily as she told me that he just fell dead of a heartattack without warning. There's nothing that is more upsetting than losing someone you love and care about. Especially a close friend and confident. He was a great older gentlemen. I still miss him many years later and think of him and smile when I think back about all of the stories and vegetables we shared. He's in heaven now with the angels. We will see him again one day.

Of all the reactions I have seen for this beautiful song, I have to say that I was looking for someone to connect with it the way that this amazing woman did. I felt and feel the same every time I hear it and just the fact that she allowed it to touch her deeply shows what an amazing person she is. I finally found a real reaction to this song!

This song has saved me many times. 7 years ago I lost 8 people in the span of 1 year. 2 being my Dad and 5 months later my best friend of 40+ years. I cry every time but the message in this song gets me through. Whiskey Lullaby is another one that grabs your heart. But you have to watch the official video or it doesn't pack the same punch.

You two are so cute!! Truth is that here in the South, many of us had these kinds of friendships with the opposite race. We were like family. That's just not the narrative that politicians and the media want exposed. P.S. I cry every time I hear this song.
