That’s wrong. He wrote It won’t be the same without you - for his brother Go rest high was written for Keith Whitley. The lyrics are about Keith’s struggle with alcoholism and his song I’m no stranger to the rain. Gills brother died years after a car crash that left him in a coma with TBI.

Vince Gill is one of my all time favorites. He can play the guitar like no other. I have seen him live 3 times and he sounds just like this. He started in a rock band called Pure Prairie League and is currently touring with the Eagles.

I was privileged to see him in concert once, and I have to say it was the best concert I've ever been too! He played with his band for like an hour, then came back on stage by himself and played for another hour or so just him and his guitars that were set up in a half circle around him! Not exactly true. Vince has been in the music business a long time. He was with the pop country group Pure Prarie League in the early 80s. They had at least two big pop hits in 1980 and they were both written by Vince. He also had a big country hit around 86 or 87 with a song entitled Cinderella. It's true that this song and the album it came from was his first mega hit but he had plenty of success before this.
