What I love the most about Bruce Springsteen and the E street band is that they seem like they are having a great time. As well as making great music of course.

It doesn't suck as a creator of music having to learn and master your instrument, it's one of the most satisfying things you can do in your life. Once you have the basic skills, the desire to always learn new things on your instrument stays forever.

Ironic that this was proposed as the NJ state anthem with the lyrics “we gotta get out while we’re young”. And, yeah, they could play their instruments and Bruce is an incredible and prolific songwriter.

A key to so many Springsteen songs is that they are depressing messages, but played with an upbeat tune/music. America.

My very first concert was when It was a gift for my 16th birthday to see Bruce at Widener University. He was amazing 👏 😍 I swear that concert made me go to over 400 concerts. You are so right about how it was back in the 70s. Tickets were cheap back then. I have to add that I am celebrating my 67th birthday this month, and I still go to about 2 or 3 concerts a year and my husband always gets me the most expensive tickets that also include a dinner at a 5 star restaurant in the City of Philly. I am so blessed.

You never even HEARD of The Boss before? Oh HONEY. Bruce is definitely one of the great songwriters in the American legacy, probably the most the most iconic rock star in in the world since the seventies, and the E Street Band is by far the greatest classic rock group of all time. They're still going strong, too, Yes, the lyrics are frequently darker than you'd expect from the sound- that's a big thing in rock, and a lot of the artistry is in the way they handle the interaction. The Boss is an absolute master of writing hooks that make you jump up & bop around (God I love you), but then you actually get the lyrics and the whole thing is just a completely different experience. You might want to read the lyrics after you listen to the songs. He's got amazing political messages, too - check out Born in the USA, The River, Dead Man Walkin, and 41 Shots. Those are the heavy ones, though. There''s a lot more that are just plain fun, and every last track is a banger. I don't think he's ever released a bad song, and he's probably got like thirty albums by now..... This is what you have to listen to next: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5ycdaKvlpWVlbc I'm sorry there's no video, but I promise this is the performance you want

ok, you're definitely not wrong about sounding like the full house theme song . these early albums are really an interesting cultural artifact bc springsteen was the one of the first mainstream songwriters to really confront the death of american manufacturing jobs in the '70's and subsequent death of manufacturing towns (which he's talking about here--getting out of a dead-end town) and ultimately the death of a blue collar middle class. we're dealing with the end result of this transition from a (well-paid) manufacturing economy where a family could live a solid middle-class lifestyle on a single income, without a college degree, to a service economy, and he's addressing this shift very early on, before we really understood how it would turn out, so to me it's kind of eerie in retrospect.

you checked out some good oldies but 80's and 90's had lots of great music like "faith no more, EPIC" and "pantera , COWBOYS FROM HELL" or even "antrax , IM THE MAN" high beat energy music with that 80's 90's feel

Gonna go out on a limb here- Because Born to Run is EPIC rock and roll. I wanna nominate some tracks from a much, much smaller band- The Protomen. They have tracks- Vengeance? You'd get down on. The Hounds? You can't HELP but vibe with. They're a smallish band from out of Tennessee that is trying to tell a story. They have a FULL album of LIVE Queen covers that do the source material justice. They're a diamond in the rough and I think they're worth a listen to. Glad you're back. ;)
