Written by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance. Originally released in 1983. Released again, in 1984, on the album Reckless. 40 years. 2 years before this was released, Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance wrote Stay for fellow Canadian band Prism. That song led to Heaven. Same key! This song and the original version of Obsession were the highlights of the B movie A Night in Heaven. True story. Mickey Curry, who left Hall and Oates to join BA, could not make the recording session due to a prior contract requiring him to play for another musician. Steve Smith , then of Journey, came into play. Compare this to the song Faithfully, which Journey played. Very similar! And BA was the opening act for Journey that year! Engineer Bob Clearmountain worked with BA in 1983 for the album Cuts Like a Knife and with the late David Bowie, RIP, for Let's Dance. Rob Sabino played keyboards for him. RS and BC worked on this song and. Now RS is a lecturer in music at UC Davis. In an interview, BA wanted Nile Rodgers, who co produced Let's Dance, to produce Reckless. Listen to the Apple podcast for details. There are really 2 eras for Bryan Adams: up to 1991 and 1991 onward. Mutt Lange changed everything in 1991 for BA. Suggested videos: 1 Bryan Adams sings Summer of 69. 2 Journey performs Faithfully.

Yes. This came out in 1983, I had dropped out of high school for nearly 2 years, then my new girlfriend and life convinced me to go back to school. This song came out the year we both graduated, and we had a child 6 months later, after being together for 31/2 years. 4 months later she left me and this song and Journey’s I Wanna Know What Love Is came out! Yes it was and has been crushing, but what’s more crushing is I was hurt and immature and thought there would always be time to know my first Son..by the time I woke up, years into my 2nd Son’s life, was too late. Not just for my first Son and I but for his Mother and I at least for me to admit my errors to her and let her know I shall always love and care for her. So yeah haha I may not be objective about this song. Please know I love that it moved you! Oh and PS- I definitely put my business on the street with this but it was worth it!

If you had known this song before getting married, surely you would have played it on your wedding, maybe as you were walking down the aisle or at the wedding after party with you and your hubby dancing to it, just the two of you alone on the dance floor and everyone sitting and/or staying around you. This song, together with "Lady" by Kenny Rogers (which you reacted to) and "Suddenly" by Billy Ocean definitely belong to a wedding play list. Btw, if you haven't reacted to "Suddenly" by Billy Ocean yet, you should definitely do it.😉 Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
