The title song off his new album Higher is gorgeous. He said he wrote that song 22years ago but has been a bit afraid of it. No live performance yet but his vocals on that blew me away

Chris was in two bands, a southern rock band called Jompson Brothers and a Bluegrass band called The Steeldrivers. This was before he went solo. There is a video of him singing "Barely Alive" in a lounge, it was a song he did with the Jompson Brothers, he turned a noisy lounge into dead silence within 1 minute. With the Steeldrivers I can't think of a bad song (but then I love bluegrass music). But I will recommend, "If It Hadn't Been for Love", "Sticks That Make Thunder" (about the civil war), "Can You Run" (about slaves making a run for it), "Blue Side of the Mountain". If you get a chance listen to "Death Row". It is the only song I will recommend that you listen to directly from the album. There are sounds lightly played in the background that you can not get the full effect of from a live version and it digs deep into your soul. His catalog is amazing and he only became famous in 2015, not even 10 years old.

I couldn't find it in your Playlist, but I found it by typing it in on my tablet, and it popped right up. It does hit you in the feels, and you can feel his emotions when he belts out those notes. @SaeedReacts I think I was mistaken. “Watch You Burn” was performed at the 2022 CMA Awards. Or maybe both lol! CMA performance is amazing! Btw, Chris wrote the song about the mass event in Vegas October 1,2017 out of his anger. Performer on stage at time was his friend, Jason Alden. His wife Morgane, who is also shown in the live performance, talked him into releasing it!!
