Bow River is a 148-kilometre (92 mi) long tributary of the Ord River in the Kimberley region of northern Western Australia. The river was named by pastoralist Michael Durack in 1882. The song was written by Ian Moss and released in 1982.

Australia's premier rock band. Every member a fine musician, two accomplished lead vocalists (Jimmy Barnes and Ian Moss), principal song writer Don Walker, (piano) with brilliant songs, that were notable hits, also written by the other four members Barnes, Moss, drummer Steve Prestwich and bassist Phil Small. Founded in 1973, they worked their way up to be stars, fought amongst themselves, split up a few times, reformed and are still going strong, though only four of the five remain (RIP Steve Prestwich). They are dead set legends of Australian modern music.

There are two Bow Rivers in Australia, one in the southern end of South Australia / Western Australia. And one high up the "Top End" of Western Australia. It is an extremely remote area and fairly arid in what i believe is in some mountains or hills. The top end is close to the equator so its damn hot and not far away is a massive rainforest in Northern Australia. Some Aussies like to travel out into the countryside wilderness where the populations are almost non existent to get out and enjoy the silence. Another similar lyric song is Cool Change by Little River Band sung by Glenn Shorrock. Only he is the type to venture out into the ocean and beaches. Completely different style of music, but the meaning is the same.

Jimmy Barnes lives in the town next to me. My wife went to school with one of his nephews. These guys were/ are huge . I moved here in the late 90s and discovered them. No idea how they didn't hit it big all over. I do know the record company's screwed them when they tried to break in to the US market.

You where spot on working class band Used to play the pubs in my home town They where the bouncers as well if anyone got out of line Look up wild thing same arena Also they do a song called working class man I think you like them both They never forget where they came from either very down to earth Jimmy has a site and even today still interact with fans on their His whole family runs it so if jimmy's away one of family on their speaking to the fans He's kids sing and play instruments as well It's wasn't a short cut either mate for you but a lesson in life and to learn what you really wanted in life The good thing living this live style you get to know what's important in life and it's not a slave to money and the man But to enjoy the small things in life family friends I always say you only need a few things in life to succeed That food clothes on your back roof over your head family and good friends if your lucky Everything else in life is a luxury Because with money comes pressure and expectations to keep accumulating by sacrificing of life Cheers mate 🦘🇦🇺👍

The "six days away from the great taipan..." refers to the most venomous snake on the planet, (look it up). The members of Cold Chisel all hailed from the northern Adelaide suburb of Elizabeth. This was a factory town, dominated by the General Motors car factory, now closed. Cold Chisel started as a pub band, and built up a fan base playing on weekends at the Largs Pier Hotel, a large seaside pub in Adelaide in South Australia. They are as working class as you can get.

Jimmy barnes does most of there lead singing and has also had a great solo career.. some cold chisel songs are Wild thing (cover) Cheap wine Khe sahn Flame trees When the war is over Forever now Saturday night Choir girl Plus many more they are influenced by rock, pub rock, soul, blues, reggae Jimmy also does duet with Tina Turner (simply the best), INXS (good times) and probably the only other person in Australia who can match Jimmys vocals John Farnham (when something is wrong with my baby) Jimmys solo songs include Working class man When a man loves a woman (cover) Change gonna come Plus many more Also Jimmy singing “knocking on heavens door” at a memorial for Andy Durant with other aussie musicians is epic Plus Jimmy singing “you’ll never walk alone” with his son David Campbell is also fantastic
