loved the reference to The Cult singer. Danzig wrote this song in response to parents who thought his music was corrupting their kids. Very few fathers wanted to bang heads with him lol

Watching the live footage, I realized I like their basic stage setup. Nothing too fancy or overblown. They’ve got a backdrop and some dry ice going, but it’s really about the band being onstage and rocking out.

Danzig's first three solo albums were amazing, for four primary reasons. John Christ, Eerie Von, Chuck Biscuits, and, producer Rick Rubin. Seeing as how Danzig is all of 5'3", the Hulk comparison is WAY off!

100% agree that the first 3 albums were excellent !! i think it sucks that Danzig slags off this original lineup .. and he wouldn't even jam with John Christ some years back . When John was up to playing with him again on a Danzig tour . He knows damn well this was his best lineup he ever had .

Hold on Angel. I thought I heard you say you was a metalhead somewhere and you never heard of Danzig or their song Mother? Ok i give you credit since they are old school and this song came out in the late 80's and early 90's in the US. I was once a metalhead. Can still claim to be although I'm in my 60's now. My son who is 30 outclassed me with the Dark metal and Death metal but I still head bang now and then. Oh my fav head banger song back from the day I recomend you react to is, "hypocrisy - apocalypse (live waken 1998)". That song always gave me a medeval wicked vibe and it's best thee lyrics are mumbled as they are intense , for the time at least.

Danzig is not a bad rabbit hole to dive into. All three of the first albums are good, but the third is a bit more experimental. The "Black Aria" album (Spotify has this as their fourth album, but I think this was a solo project from Glenn Danzig) has a much more classical music sound, with no real lyrics (although there is some background vocals) and a very dark sound. "She rides", also on the first album, is another good choice although there is not an official video. From the second album I recommend "Devil's Plaything" again no official video. A good song from the third album is "How The Gods Kill" and there is a video for this one kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZKcgItvqauYe9Usi=8crrbfyo8w440iL6 . The visuals on this one might be a little disturbing and risqué to some people.
