As always, spot on. The visuals are a big part of the deal. They are an artist collective that started Die Antwoord as a project and it hit correct and allowed them to achieve their artistic goals so it has become their expression. The first time I listened to 'Enter the Ninja' I hated it from the jump. Yo Landi's singing didn't connect with me either. But then he came in with "I'm a motherfuckin' Ninja" and I stopped the video and had to gather myself. Oh, they are self aware. got it. and then it was a ride. In this video the visuals are because they are working with a famous South African photographer who captured street level life for South Africans. Thats what Zef is, it is the common scumbag wealth culture that is an outgrowth of the racial and economic divide that was Apartheid and then post-Apartheid South Africa. As mentioned elsewhere fink is think because it is Afrikaans. As Die Antwoord is The Answer Dave Letterman had them on to perform this song. The visuals they presented for that performance and not the scumbag ones they present here, but they left Letterman basically speechless. He didn't have a contest to comment on them and it is Wonderfull.

It's most definitely performance art. Before die antwoord was formed, the same members had a sort of performance where ninja was in a business suit like a rapping motivational speaker or something. I found Die Antwoord about 2 years ago? KZbin algorithm...I was checking out Viking Folk Metal (yeah, it's a thing). Normally I'm not a 'rap' guy...but this sort of bridges the gap between rap and dance. I also absolutely LOVE their little 'video's that they make. They are both true artists, interested in creating art their own way to express their own life. .. Oh, and FYI, both Ninja and Yolandi had major parts in the movie "Chappie", by Blomkaumph (?). That's where I recognized them from when I first found out "Hey...these two are musicians...not actors! WTF?!?" LOL! :) Well, apparently, their both.

Part of the thing is understanding it's not American, it's South African, so you just got to sit back and take in the cultural differance. Their art style is highly crafted. “I, personally, would not eat in that kitchen”😂😆🤣 That is one of the funniest statements made in a KZbin video ever!!! I’m dying laughing.

Umshini Wham is a masterpiece. It's not even a song, but a short film. It won me over.

one of the small boys in the video, tokkie, recently came out with his experience with die antwoord and how they adopted him and raised him terribly :( it’s on youtube uploaded yesterday and i suggest giving it a watch. these are not good people even if they are visually and musically interesting.

Hahaha. I'm not going to read through all the comments till I see someone mentioned Afrikaans. And whatever else they are doing. I totally agree with you. It's art from the get go. I really love this era. I d your reactions,or I wouldn't keep watching the.

You gotta do Fatty Boom Boom. And your reaction is epic 😂. I’ve watched so many of your reactions and this one is hilarious. Also yes they are bilingual in 3 languages and rap in all 3. English French and Afrikaans. They are very South African. Zeff style.

I reluctantly love Die Antwoord, and it truly is a bit of a rabbit hole type experience to go down that path.

If you ever read any of their Instagram posts or the text messages from Ninja that Zheahi leaked you'll see that they talk and spell like tween girls. Lots of abbreviations and spellings words the way they sound phonetically, but that may be a reflection of their South African upbringing. I'm really not sure either

Yes thats some great performance art there. "Alien", "Pitbull Terrier", "Fatty Boom Boom" or "Cookie Thumper" are also great and very unique.
