I cried the first time I heard him sing this. It’s etherial. This modern take on a very classic song was composed by Igor Krutoy, the man on the piano. Dimash does compose and sing some pop songs, but his style is a mix of classical and pop. He is after all a trained opera singer. You’re right, he doesn’t make commercial pop music. His music is more sophisticated. He’s a huge international star already at this point though.

Dimash did have a concert at the Barclay Center in New York City, I believe in 2019, just before COVID-19 shut everything down. There were studios here in the US that wanted to sing Dimash, but he declined. He did not want anyone telling him what to sing, how to sing it, or when he could sing. So, he returned to Kazakhstan and created his own studio and center.

He took part in a talent show in the USA (The Worlds best) and quit the show because he refused to compete against children who were also participants in the show. He has also released several songs that fall into the pop, rap and rock genres, with really good MVs to boot. Be with me, Fly away, Give me your love, Screaming... And did covers of Lionel Richie’s Hello, My heart will go on, All by myself, and some awesome Queen and Michael Jackson Medleys.

The thing is that Dimash does do pop, and he has performed in the States when he did "World's Best", which was an absolute disaster when the judges treated him TERRIBLY. He has been working and living in Los Angeles for part of this past year so hopefully that bodes well for his further exposure in the U.S. Honestly, though, he stays pretty busy around the world as it is, so it's not like he's hurting for a fan base or exposure. He's just not willing to sell out to get it, which is we we (his Dears) work so hard to do our part to help him gain exposure wherever we are. The more Dears we can get involved in this pursuit the more people like you will discover him despite his remaining an independent artist.

Just FYI. There are many different compositions titled "Ave Maria." This is not Schubert's Ave Maria, which is arguably the most famous. This is an original composition by Igor Krutoy, who is playing the piano here. He composed it at Dimash's request. Some say it most closely hews to the Caccini/Vavilov version, but I personally find it quite different. I believe that by not having words it was intended to be a prayer for the entire world and not any particular religion.

💥 Years ago, his company hired an international strategic planning firm for a working plan for his career and life goals, to include performing in addition to his being a fulltime student through his Doctorate, and building a production organization. He's finished the Doctorate coursework and until comparatively recently, all his concerts, videos and performances etc. have been carefully scheduled around his studies in segmented geographical areas for maximum penetration of the market with PR, marketing and merchandising, did a successful US test market in a concert in New York some time ago. At their invitation, he spent 3 weeks in California this year in meetings and planning sessions with David Foster and US CEOs and executives and a Master Class in film school (see his The Story Of One Sky, an international sensation) In interviews, saying he needed the additional weight of advanced education to compose seriously and teach on the university level later in life. Still working with the firm, he indicates he's on track, organization growing and performing on international tours and projects in the pipeline. Considered by many, a genius in business as well as music.

Dimash has a dozen pop songs. He sings some at concerts. After all, his big dramatic songs are very challenging vocally and sometimes very sad stories. If the audience are at his concerts which are three hours long, we’re listening to a whole evening of that, we would be emotionally drained. He puts in some lighter pop songs to get the audience up,if Ted and energised. He even puts in a bit of dancing. He is the ultimate all rounder. I’m going to my fourth Dimash concert in Budapest in may.

That is so funny that you mentioned BTS! I had first heard about Dimash in 2018, thinking ‘I’ll have to check him out’ - but didn’t hop right in. A short time later…for some strange reason I confused him as being a member of BTS! I let an entire year pass, then finally checked him out with his version of SOS. My eyes watered. My only regret was letting an entire year pass to 2019 before finally listening to him. I honestly believe he’s the best VOCAL ARTIST of our current time. NO ONE does what Dimash does. A once in a century talent and vocals. (And this is coming from an old Led Zep and Stevie Rae Vaughan fan! All three are my favs in their own entirely unique musical genius ways but Dimash is just out there on an entirely other plane like no other. 😄 So glad you checked him out! ✌🏼❤️

He’s well past talent shows and competitions. He sold out Barclay Arena in 2019 just before the pandemic hit. Your just starting but he has some pop, rock, rap, R&B, traditional, classical, contemporary while throwing jazz riffs, musical theatre belts, heavy metal screams and sounding like various musical instruments. He’s already famous and people travel around the world to see him. America is a mere speck but I do hope he does a North American tour at some point.

Actually dimash did do a talent show here in the US is called the world best but he dropped out because he found out he was going against two kids which one of them was from his own country and it went against his people beliefs… they believe that kids are the future and that we adults should let them get the praise or let them win

One thing is clear, if you're a star like Dimash in China, you don't necessarily need the West. Dimash has also made pop in the past. But everything is always at a high level. Before you ask how, you have to ask who. Who is Dimash? I, and a few others, call the singer of the millennia. From Kazakhstan, beginning his singing career at age 5 (he's 29 now, 2023), Dimash was accepted into the most distinguished music academy in his country. The world became aware of him in 2017 (when he was 22), during and after a Chinese singing contest called "Singer". His range extends from the top of the bass register to the highest notes of the coloratura soprano and whistle register. His first digital music album "ID" went platinum in only 37 seconds after release, and 3x platinum in only one hour, and 5x platinum in only one day on Chinese music platforms In December 2019, he made his US debut in New York at the Barclays Center. Dears (those he calls his fans) traveled from 68 different countries, 43 states & 2 US territories, and was sold out. Now writing his Doctoral thesis for a PhD in Musicology/ Composing, received all his degrees with honors while simultaneously filling arenas and maintaining his performing career, a first! He has a bachelors degree in vocals, a master's degree in composition and is about to complete his PhD in musicology this year. Dimash sings in 14 languages, plays 7+ musical instruments, is a composer, an amazing vocalist, patriot, philanthropist and, despite his popularity and talent, is a very warm and humble person.

Our beloved Dimash is a huge superstar, he is well known in Asia, CIS countries and Latin America. He won all possibile awards in China as Best International Singer, Best Asian Singer, Best Overseas Singer, Best Male Singer, etc... Yes. I guess it's about what you're aiming for as an artist. If you're aiming for world wide fame or fame in the USA, then you may have to give up your own "style" in order to get that. If your aim is to make your own kind of music because you love it and want to share it, then you may have to give up that type of fame (unless your style catches on). Sort of like that verse in the Bible that says, "What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul?" I know it's talking about eternal destinies, not about the music industry, but it does seem to fit in a way. I hope Dimash chooses wisely. (He seems to be, so far.) Dimash is well known in the Asian community. The reason he is only now being discovered in the west is since his exceptional musical shenanigans are being shared via social media. You are correct; he does not do what would be hot in the states or anywhere in the west, but the reason for that is because he refuses to be boxed. Out here in the west the music charts are driven by a combination of Hollywood (strangely enough; it's not just movies) and also radio. Radio dictates trends. You have to sign with producers who know the ins and outs of this market and then you can get in. If you sign such a contract they get some control over what you do. Dimash will not give anyone any control over what he does. This is why he runs solo tours and why he's not the most well known in the pop world.

Thank you for your honest reaction. Dimash is very unique. His vocal quality is above and beyond anyone on this earth. As you have seen the comments from many of fellow Dears, Dimash is not an ordinary singer. He is very well educated, very humble and respectful of all people. You can't put him in a box. He has defied classification. He is not an opera singer, but he can sing opera. He is not a pop singer, but her can certainly sing pop songs like any of the pop superstars. He can rock out like any rock stars and play instruments like the best of them (though he claimed that he plays, but not as well as the true masters of each of the instruments. So humble). He IS music in its purest form. Welcome to the world of Dimash. I have listened to all kinds of music all my life. Dimash is the only one whose music gives me goosebumps and chills every single time. 😅😂Too late. !!! He has already done plenty of good Pop songs, Dimash style.😂😅 At this very event he released Fly Away in english which would do great in the USA if he was not independant. It is more than the right song as the USA Music Mafia does their best to block anyone that they don't make a profit on. He tried to break into the USA market in 2019 with a spot on World's Best TV Show but they lied to him. He was set to walk away with the million dollar prize when he discovered that they were hiding child contestants from him. As this against the rules of his culture and his contract, his honour forced him to quit. In Kazakhstan, they support children, they do not compete against them.🫤 Luckily this event, which ended badly did not impact the Concert that was planned in December later that year. is known world wide. Including the states. Whether he's a commercial hit in the states is irrelevant imo. He's got the world. He's independent of the western music industry. He wants creative freedom. While he is mostly classical crossover...he is versatile and does go into a pop realm here or there Be With Me MV, Golden MV, Screaming, Fly Away New Wave, and others...but also tradition Kazakh songs, opera, etc. He's presently working with Placido Domingo, and Hauser. Commercial pop and rap are not for everyone. There is an audience for a more serious and substantive music. Quality that comes from years of study. Mozart was not Engelbert Humperdink even in his day. They had plenty of regular musicians and the common tunes. Dimash fans (Dears) travel the world to see him live. 64 different countries. Ave Maria means "All Hail Mary" and it is a prayer to Maria the mother of Jesus for the Catholic Church. It is not ONE song: many composers used that prayer as lyrics for their compositions Most people thought this would be the traditional prayer but this is not the Franz Schubert´s Ave Maria, on Bach/Gounod´s, or Michael Lorenc´s or Ave Maria di Caccini. I know them well because I used to play them when I studied to play the piano. His singing this being a muslim in a country where there are almost no Christians would be completely misunderstood. Dimash did a new one composed by Igor Krutoy and I guess that it started to take form from that featuring in "Love is like a dream. It has not lyrics, it is magic using only one vowel and impressing on it the feeling of that prayer.

DIMASH can sing "AHH" throughout the entire song and make it sound like "Heaven" has descended down to us. That is "how" good he is and how much genius envelopes him. Hard to even put into words what he does each and every performance.

You might not want him to,but Dimash has done quite a few pop songs.Check out his MV of 'Be with me'(MJ vibes!),or 'Fly away' or 'Weekend' or 'Zhalin' or 'Screaming'.Just because,he isn't that well known in the US doesn't mean,he isn't a Superstar in the rest of the World(he is a massive Star in Asia,plenty of people there,haha).He did a concert in New York in 2019 in front of tens of thousands of people,which had sold out in minutes!He has concerts all over the world,in Germany,Hungary,Turkey,Indonisia,UK and this Saturday in Hong Kong.
