Dimash does sing opera----was offered a permanent position with a big city opera company but turned it down because he enjoys singing in virtually every genre of music from opera to rap, and everything in between. He has a seven-octave range; I doubt you will encounter another singer with that kind of range. This song is excellent but barely scratches the surface of his vocal ability and creative performances. I hope you will check others that are recommended to you. You can't go wrong with anything by this guy. He is other-worldly and will leave you amazed and sometimes shocked, time and time again.

A young man from Kazakhstan, singing in French to a Chinese audience, and he had them in tears. This is the first time World saw him. He is a huge star in China now. The show "I am a Singer" is for established singers to compete against each other. Think of the likes of Freddie Mercury competing against David Bowie, George Michael and Elton John. In fact Jessie J competed the year after this in "Singer 2018" against my favourite performer Hua Chenyu. You are so right.. KZbin brings us singers so much better than we see in the West now. Dimash is viewed as the best Vocalist in the World. And most in the West have never even heard of him. We get Cardy B, Nikki Minaj or Hip Hop. Asia has female singers better than Whitney or Celine or Mariah. And their male singers are innovative, clever and engaging.

I love it! This song is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight in 2017 (The Singer). The song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' (1978) and is known in the English-speaking world as Tycoon (1995). That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Only professional, award-winning singers participate. This performance of Dimash back in 2017 was very great, but now he is even better and has so much music done. Amazing voice, great artist at all and wonderful human. Listen to the sounds of his music is a gift. He is Kazakh and came unknown to China to this big competition show "I'm singer" in which only very well-known singers participated. Nobody knew Dimash in China. Dimash had a wild card. After the performance of S.O.S. (video you`ve seen), he was a star there and had millions of fans. Social media in China did not stand still. Dimash is getting pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin, which he says is a challenging language to learn. He usually performs for more than two hours during his live concerts and treats his audience to an eclectic mix of styles. A good professional vocalist has a range of about 3 octaves. I saw that performance in 2017 and have listened to Dimash every day since, I’ve flown to three different countries to see hus over three hour concerts, sone of which are on you tube. He has charisma in bucket loads and has no ego, just a humble loving man who wants peace in the world. At his concerts he sings, plays instruments, jokes with the audience, gets us all to sing with him, may get someone out if the audience up on stage, sing happy birthday if the occasion calls for it and comes down off the stage at the end to shake hands with his fans that he calls ‘dears’ as we are as special to him as his family. Try Stranger next, from New Wave 2021It’s in English and epic but anything you play from him will be an experience.

Dimash is a 29-year-old Kasakh vocalist and composer; He speaks Kasakh, Russian and English and is learning Mandarin Chinese. He sings in more than 14 languages, plays 7 musical instruments. He graduated from the Kazakhstan University of Arts with a master's degree in composition and is completing a doctorate in musicology. Ever since I first heard him, completely by chance, a day doesn't go by without listening to entire playlists of his songs. Dimash - THE greatest vocalist of ALL time! Thanks for the great reaction. He sings all genres and in 13 languages and lots in English. He is from Kazakhstan which is thousands of mailes away from China. After this performance it was downloaded 600 million times in China. He is a superstar all over the world now, he regularly sells out solo concerts to 40,000 people all over the world. You may hear more from him in America soon (although he did have a sell out solo concert at the Barclay Centre, in New York Dec 2019), since he has recently been working on a project with 16 times grammy award winner David Foster on a project in LA. His range has now increased to over 7 octaves, 6 years after this performance. Believe it or not he is so much better today! He’s an amazing composer and multi-instrumentalist too. He’s currently studying for his Doctorate in Musicality already having obtained two degrees in vocals (Classical & Contemporary) and a Masters degree in Composition for which he received a perfect score of 100%. Thank you for discovering Dimash and welcome to a beautiful world of music. Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And that in all registers. His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 15 or 16 languages so far). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. Sometimes he also can be a little bit goofy, and I love it❤️. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in Almaty, Kazakhstan was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄. SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. Dimash is not Chinese. He was a wild Card in this program. He is from Kazakhstan. He was 22 here in 2017. He is now 29 years old. He is considered the best singer in the world. Dimash is a singer, songwriter, composer, multinstrumentalist, and philanthropist. He has a 7-octave range and he sings in 15 languages, but he speaks 4 languages. He is classically trained, and has been training since the age of 5. He is well-known around the world. His concerts are fabulous and his music videos are epic. Despite his success, Dimash is a very humble person. He loves his fan which he calls his "Dears". My favorite song is "Stranger". He does covers and original songs. He sings in English. Dimash is classically (Opera) trained, and has been singing since he was 5 years old. This was a very enjoyable reaction. The song "S.O.S. (d'un Terrien en détresse)" is originally from a French-Canadian musical called 'Starmania' from the 1970s and is considered one of the most difficult French songs to perform. Dimash is from Kazakhstan. He appears here in the fifth season of Hunan Television's "I Am A Singer" competition. "I Am A Singer" is an annual Chinese music competition between famous and established professional singers. The audience phones in to determine the winner after each episode. It is the same throughout the entire show; 500 with musical backgrounds judge the show by points each week. At 22 years old, Dimash was the youngest participant in the show's history and competed against these professional and top-selling Chinese singers as a 'wildcard' competitor. The competition consists of 14 rounds, lasts almost 4 months, and competitors are eliminated throughout the season. Every performance is live, and no lip-syncing or auto-tune is permitted. Pure unadulterated vocal ability only. Dimash's mother later said that he hoped to reach at least the middle stage of the competition. This was the very first episode of the competition, and Dimash had to go first because he was considered the weakest, given that he was completely unknown to the audience. After this performance, he became a superstar in China overnight. His Chinese competitors called him their "little imported brother." The other already well-known contestants were in absolute awe of him and joked that they might as well go home. Dimash won the first two episodes! He also won the 6th for his rendition of "Adagio," a song made famous by Lara Fabian. First place overall went to the famous Chinese Sandy. Sandy's first album came out before Dimash was even born. Dimash took second place overall; however, he lost by a very narrow margin. He lost a lot of points for his performance of "Uptown Funk." Although Dimash did not win the show, he immediately became a beloved star in China. As part of the contest, all contestants/performers are required to perform one original song they have composed. Dimash sang "Unforgettable Day," a song he wrote when he was still in his teens - it's a love song. He sang in both the original Kazakh and in Chinese even though he did not speak Chinese at the time and had to have a translator with him throughout the competition. Here is the order of Dimash's performances for The Singer 2017. The contest lasts 14 weeks, but Dimash has only 13 performances because he had already made it into the semi-finals by week 11. 1. I wonder why he seems to be hidden from us. The North American music industry does know about him. He has performed in the US and Britain but nobody talks about him in the media. I wonder if it is because he and his family have complete control over his performances and they make all the decisions for a performaces. He comes from a friendly country, Kazakhstan, not China and performs/ed in many difference countries, usually as a participant in music contests which he always wins except for China who only alows a Chinese citizen to win. Dimash came second in the I am a Singer contest. I think now, he has stopped with the contests. You should watch all his interviews to really get to know him from inside and out. He is the most remarkable person I have ever listened to. You will be awe struck.

Dimash isn't Chinese, he's Kazakh and is has been living in Los Angeles since March this year, he had a concert in New York in 2019 and started his second world tour in September last year although he's currently in China for the next couple of weeks.
