I really appreciated the analytical depth you went into with this song Josh. I realised that even a love song is something else with Dimash. The premier of this song was delayed because Russia started the war with Ukraine at that time. Dimash's team finished making the MV not long before that. He chose the storyline himself out of several version that was put before him. He speaks against a regime with autocratic power, or absolute authority, where a state representative can force their own will onto people. Interfering with people's everyday life, taking your house, your love, your life, just because. ' Absolute power corrupts absolutely '...comes to my mind. I have great respect for him for using his talent and the given platform, to bring to attention such a serious message. I love this song. The rhythm is fantastic, the melody line, his vocals, atmosphere, absolutely fantastic. I love those claps right before chorus. Amazing stuff. The video is great. Powerful. Guys, if you feel uncomfortable with this song (so beautiful and so sad...), you must react to the latest Dimash's MV "The Story of One Sky": this is a 14 min uppercut in your heart, your soul, your eyes, your ears, your life. The quintessence of what he is able to do and what he is in the depths of himself. The most powerful song ever. Demonstrating (if needed) that his talent goes far beyond his insane vocal ability. It’s one of the few songs where he doesn’t show his wide vocal range or vocal exercises other than that incredibly soft, breathy voice. Perhaps the content of this song is more important to him than showing his vocal ability. I think that’s a very good choice for this song. At first the song didn’t appeal to me that much. I wasn’t alone there. You’re not used to such a “normal” song from Dimash. But together with the MV, a masterpiece. It moved me incredibly. All his songs and especially the MV’s have a deeper meaning. I love this one so much. It’s one of my favorites. The MV is about the time during Stalin’s repression in 1937. Back then, the secret police could do whatever they wanted. I think this officer for some reason was looking for Dimash’s character and then forced his girlfriend into some kind of relationship. She had to endure it to protect the love of her life. Realizing that she never stopped loving Dimash’s character, the officer ended it in his own way. The video was shot to the end, but the scene at the end where he dies in her arms was left out. But you can also see it on his channel. As for the song, I actually like it better without the vocal acrobatics. We all know what Dimash is capable of vocally and I find that breathy, deeply sad voice really fitting. The MV really moved me deeply. There is a backstage video of Dimash collapsing in the arms of that girl😭. OMG he’s such a great actor too. BUT: You really should see his latest masterpiece. The Story Of One Sky. It’s not just a music video. It’s a vocal relevation. It’s incredible. This video shows once again that Dimash is an absolute genius. In singing but also as an actor (a really great actor) and as a storyteller. The message, is for the first time more important than his vocal abilities. His voice is just the tool in this video. But indispensable and simply indescribable. I advice you not to pause too much. I also advice you to rewind a few seconds after a pause. There is so much important information in there that all makes more sense if you pay attention. I swear you will be blown away. This video is set in 1937 during the Stalinist purges. The secret police had total power. They executed millions of people--not just their political enemies, but also ethnic minorities who they considered "untrustworthy." This video shows he is a musician and she is a dancer. Musicians, dancers, and artists were among those falsely accused of crimes and executed. His song Daididau was written by a Kazakh dissident writer, poet, scientist and teacher, Mazhan Zhumabaev, who was arrested and murdered during one of these purges in 1938.

I think the song was meant to make you feel uncomfortable and fearful. This is happening now and in some places, spreading. Authoritarian rule. I heard discussion about the piano sound.
