More amazing storytelling from this iconic double album, complete with impeccable musical creativity and execution... Thanks for watching! 🥰

Bernie Taupin was a true gifted lyricist as much as Elton was a gifted singer and musician.

This album is the best ear candy ever...! I bought it when it came out in 1973. I was 12 years old. I learned all the songs and it doesn't get old. This is still my favorite album of all time.

Are these "deep cuts"?? I love these songs. Elton can not make a bad song. IMO 💙💙🎵🎶🎶

I guess so? I mean people are saying every song on this double album is amazing, and they all certainly have a lot of streams each on Spotify! So maybe this album has no deep cuts haha...

I enjoyed seeing you enjoy these. They are the opening tracks of the second vinyl - what a start! I almost seems nonsensical to talk of highlights from this album because the consistent standard is so high. These along with many others are perfect songs. Yet again we have interesting and well crafted words from Bernie Taupin and Elton's musical interpretations and compositions are faultless. Furthermore, there was no dead wood in Elton's band and they all contribute beautifully. 👍

Nice to get back to Elton! Goodbye Yellow Brick Road was my first vinyl of his back in the day. Sorry to say but I haven’t listened to these in ages. Elton and Bernie could really create some magic!

Always a guaranteed joy with Elton. Undoubtedly EJ & BT are one of the best musical duos of all time......

Inside the GBYBR double album they printed the lyrics, it was a rare practice if not at all. My 13 year old self listened to the album so many times, singing the words that I still remember at 64. All of them 😁

I’ve always loved his voice. He and Bernie have got to be on the Mt Rushmore of songwriting partners.

Del Newman incorporated the oboe and trombone parts in the outro to emulate the sirens of the cop cars of the day. Very cool.

"Sir" ELTON JOHN: a very particular way of hitting, rolling notes and using the pedals... very similar to that of BILLY JOEL and BRUCE HORNSBY. Always a sweet pleasure for the ear! Thanks.

Brandon, without even listening to the clips, I can tell you that these are two of the best songs you've listened to this year. In addition, they are some of the best songs by Elton John, even given his well-known classic hits. These are two hidden gems by Elton and Bernie, I'll be so happy to hear you say these are great songs at the end of this. Now I'll go listen to your reaction. Chat soon. Oh after all this...You simply MUST listen to "TICKING"

Always a class act. Hadn't heard either. Loved them both particularly Danny Bailey (hint of prog?).

Actually there were quite a few critics who felt that this could have been pared down to a single album. I don’t know what they’d cut, while they’re not all bangers they are all good and the whole album flows really well.

I love many Elton songs, my top one is "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" but... the live version of "Tonight" sang by George Michael R.I.P, is from another, not planet, another galaxy.

GYBR is an amazing song! Oh yes, I have heard the GM version of Tonight....breathtaking....will forever be jealous of George's voice, but so happy I got to see him live before he passed...

I'd like to give you a compliment: I watch A LOT of reaction channels, and you Brandon (aka Retro ;) are in my top 3 favs. I really love your style, commentary, and overall reactions. Thank you! I would recommend more Elton, specifically: Stinker (funky), and Ticking (serious/ominous) both from the Caribou album.

Great album! Grey Seal and All the Young Girls Love Alice are two other deep cuts off this landmark album worth a listen. Thx!

Would you be interested in reacting to a deep cut on the Elton John 1974 album “Caribou”? The track is “Ticking” and is him and his piano with the exception of a bit of synth towards the end.
