Noone compares to Elvis! He had amazing vocal ability, charisma, great sense of humor! He had it all! More Elvis please! So many I could suggest! Polk Salad Annie from 1970 is upbeat and gospel "How Great Thou Art" live from 1972 will show you his super vocals!

The ladies are The Sweet Inspirations- I believe they won a Grammy for their song, Sweet Inspiration- they also sang backing vocals on many Aretha Franklin hits in the 60s. Elvis admired them very much and asked them to be his female backing singers when he returned to live performances in 1969. Whitney Houston' mother was one of that group for that first summer season in Vegas but by thos performance in 70, she had left to concentrate on her own stuff/family etc. Elvis also always had a Soprano and a male Gospel quartet. He was always backed by gospel or classically trained vocalists x even his musicians had to keep watching him closely as they didn't know what hw was going to do next❤

A great introduction to Elvis - he had that amazing voice, soul, charisma combined with the moves & his looks - he was 'the music'!🔥A rare, unique & truly special talent. Elvis grew up in poverty, his father was briefly in prison, so he and his mother lived in a shack - dirt poor - they depended on others for food. He grew up playing with all different races but mainly in the black community - he loved to go to the local church and sing gospel with the choir. Elvis himself was part Native American - he didn't see colour, he saw people. A true Gentleman who never forgot his roots but humble and so kind as a result. You *NEED* to react to 'In The Ghetto' (live in Las Vegas) - it speaks volumes about who he was as a man. ALSO, you should check out to 'If I Can Dream', his MLK tribute performance💔Elvis was devastated by MLK's murder. People tried to stop him from performing the song because it was too 'controversial'. But he went ahead & PASSIONATELY performed it on his special just 2 months after MLK's murder.🖤 Just one of the reasons he was #TheKing👑R.I.P. PS Please also react to his live cover of 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' from the same concert - simply breathtaking performance!

Great reaction! I enjoyed it very much!🌞 He did over 700 songs in his short life (1935- 1977). You won't regret diving into his catalogue. He is so versatile. You'Il find early footage looking for his appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show, the Milton Berle Show, the Frank Sinatra Show ( they did a short duet). I love every song from his early movies LOVING YOU, JAILHOUSE ROCK, KING CREOLE. I his later movies you will find Fe the legendary song VIVA LAS VEGAS. In 1968 he did a comeback special wich is amazing. If I CAN DREAM is one of the outstanding songs. His live appearances in 1970 are great too. A short documentary about what he went through in his early days is Elvis and the black community (that echo will never die). Many of his songs don't have footage, but they are worth listening to for sure... Thank you very much for this reaction!💚

There is another female vocalist besides the ones who you mentioned. She sang the ultra high soprano parts. Her name was Millie Kirkham. She is on the end next to the black female singers (The Sweet Inspirations) and in front of the male singers (The Imperials Gospel Quartet). Elvis hired the top talent to work with him. He appreciated them, and could afford to hire them long term.

WOW. Thanks for sharing this.. His vocals, his band, the back up singers.. They are all in the zone, and I was going into a hypnotic trance when he kept repeating the verse in the end. Just so cool. Please share more!!!

love watching people discover elvis! truly one of a kind in so many ways the ladies backing him up are the sweet inspirations who were with him from 1969 till his death in 1977 the males are the imperials top gospel quartet in the country the band you see with him on stage are the tcb (taking care of business) band, TCB was elvis' mantra and this band would also be his band from 1969 till his death in 77 elvis was also backed by a 30 piece orchestra that traveled with him there is so much to learn about him not only as a singer and entertainer but as an amazing human being and incredible humanitarian who spent his entire life giving to those less fortunate he was born into extreme poverty in tupelo mississippi in 1935 and came from nothing he never forgot what that was like and was one of the kindest and most humble people to ever live please checkout Can't Stop Loving You live in 1972 new sub i look forward to more elvis! thanks :)

When God created my friend Elvis he was just showing off. I can't tell you how much i love and miss him, there is not a day that goes by that i don't think of him and all the memories we made in 10 short years, his death knocked the wind out of me the funeral broke me i have never been the same since, Elvis was the big brother i never had. He is also my guardian angel. Graceland is my go to place when it get's to hard to live w/o my friend i go there and walk around and remember Elvis and all the beautiful times we had together. He was the only person in my life that understood me and cared about my feelings and opinions. What it comes down to is we both needed a true friend and we were that for each other. My nickname for him was Sexy Jello because of the way he moved his legs and hips the 1st time i called him that he laughed for a few minutes his laugh was so sweet. Awesome reaction. God bless you and your family from the one and only Memphis Tn

Oh my recommendation would be …. if I can dream. An incredible protest song, his song on NBC television during his comeback special in 1968 during the race riots. This was his tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King after he was assassinated. Also to Robert Kennedy, who was also for civil rights. After his friend MLK was assassinated, Elvis defied his manager, NBC executives and their sponsors and delivered maybe the greatest social justice song ever recorded in his honor during the race riots: If I Can Dream. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q17TgZKaeMqhgKM
