For context... Hailee is Em's only biological daughter and the one he talks about the most in his music. While his relationship with Hailee has had its ups and downs, he's always been a supportive father and their relationship is very strong today! Alaina, often called "Lainey" in his songs, is his oldest daughter, and the first he adopted. She's Kim's twin sister's daughter (Kim being Eminem's ex wife). So, he adopted his niece and raised her as one of his own. Stevie is his youngest daughter and the second he adopted. They were born as Whitney but came out as non-binary and changed their name to Stevie. Stevie is Kim's child that she had with someone else while Kim and Em were separated. He adopted her when they got married for the second time. Kim and Em are no longer together, but he continued to raise all three of his kids. He's regarded as a loving and caring father, and it's one of the reasons why I have so much respect for him. I'm interested to see you continue on this Eminem journey. He has a lot of very serious and sad songs, as well as plenty of fun and goofy songs as well.

@erikahutchcraft1742 I'm pretty sure when he first got big, he wasn't spending as much time with Hailee as he felt he should have. He was always on the move... always working. Now, he recognized that and got better. He eventually got clean, too. I have no doubt that him working a lot and having drug problems had a negative effect on Hailee. I know they're great now, but from Em's perspective, he felt like he wasn't doing enough for her at one point. The song When I'm Gone, while not literal, showed his feelings at that time.

Not in the way we typically think of that phrase, where it's like you're going through a bad spell with someone, and the dynamics between you two are horrible, etc. This is more, "I should've been there a lot more, and that's a regret I have." I think calling that "ups and downs" is really painting that in the wrong way for people.

You may not personally like Not Afraid, but it is by FAR one of his most beloved songs. Many, many of his fans rank it as their favorite, or amongst their favorites. It's far from whack. Just say you don't personally like it, rather than shitting on it. Many of us want to see Jules react to Not Afraid and Lose Yourself specifically.
