@@FreyaReacts Something you should understand about eminem, is that his songs arent ever about one single thing. Well some are. But they are usually about a theme, and they arent easy to follow from point A to point B. Its sort of like ideas mixed together, that are all related and they dont always go in order. Its sort of like when you cant get to sleep and you mind whirrs and you go from one thought to the next, a lot of his music is like this. Sometimes the songs elements dont seem to relate or they seem complete at odds with each other but if you sit down and think about it, then you can see how his brain thinks about things and how he tries to get his messages across.

I don`t think he say his albums don't do well, but he have emotional grown a lot, and fast, there are always fans there will tell him how much they loved his older stuff. And keep saying it for every album. Then when they catch up to him, they don`t like the next album.

This is my favorite song he ever wrote. The message was so positive. I love being part of this community 💕. Also for context relapse was one of his albums. His addiction was so bad he had to learn to read speak and write again. That's why he said I'll never let you down again because he's promising to never go down that dark path again

I personally do not mind pauses-- as long as the reactor hits the back arrow just to go back 5 seconds or so, so you don't happen to miss something. He fits a lot in a tiny amount of time. But I watch reactors for their thoughts too, its like when you get to introduce a friend to something you love and see their thoughts in live time.

@@FreyaReacts Em is a big comic fan himself. He featured as a character in an issue of The Punisher, and he did a track for the movie Venom. If he hadn't become a rapper, his next aspiration was to become a comic book artist. He drops comic references in a lot of his songs such as "Rap God", and mentions in "Legacy" how comics and rap were his escapes from his circumstances when he was a child. Back before he got mainstream success, he was part of a hip hop group called Soul Intent, and if you look up their 1994 track "Biterphobia", you can see the cover art that he drew himself in a comic book style, as well as hear some of his rapping from 5 years before he became famous.

@@FreyaReacts Well, he's a nerd, which is why he's so relatable to so many of us. He's probably on the autism spectrum, and he grew up as a bullied poor kid, so comic books are par for the course for someone like that. Hip hop also often draws the same kind of introverted and obsessive mind, because it's a great way of organising and expressing thoughts with an eye for detail and intricacy. A lot of rappers are comic nerds and sci-fi nerds and anime nerds and will drop those references in their work. His song "Legacy" is all about that feeling of growing up feeling like an outsider, and it shows that obsessive attention to detail because he uses the same rhyme scheme for the entire song, beginning to end, without ever running out of rhymes.

I have enjoyed all of your reactions to Em. I wish I could listen to his collection for the first time again. But watching you do it is the next best thing. I commented on another video about "bars" saying we'll need to teach you about them. And at 10:09 you had one of your first "OH!" moments. You caught the bar! Those "OH!" moments are one of the biggest reasons Em will always be my #1. 25 years later and every now and then I still get a "OMG How did I never catch that one?!" So it made me smile to see you have one yourself. :) Edit: And you caught the "raising the bar" one too! hahah its so much fun watching someone learn the art.

@@FreyaReacts Oh absolutely. The heavy ones are in fact very heavy. They only get heavier the more you know also. And this one becomes more impactful once you learn more of the life he had to leave behind. Hello Ms.Freya! I’ve now watched 7 of your videos now but this will be my first comment ma’am. And if I had to guess I’m probably about to be blasted out of the comment section for this I’m sure. Even though I’m not hating on Em at all , I was in junior college when he dropped his first album in the late 90’s and I do believe he’s the best to ever do this, but I only liked small samples of his works and that was just about every personal song he made I enjoyed , everything else I didn’t really have an ear for. However…….. 2 years ago I became bedridden due to a car accident and found an artist that I’d love to see you react to because he changed my mind about rap and my perspective on myself and the world around me. His name is NF, and a lot of people are going to tell you he’s a Christian rapper but he’s not, he’s just a rapper that’s a Christian. There’s a difference! Please check out his song and video HOPE ma’am. I drove 18 wheelers prior to my accident and I’m Christian, but people didn’t call me a Christian truck driver!! I already subbed in your first Em video I heard so I’m going to still be here either way ma’am but NF is by far the most transparent and honest writer/artist I’ve listened to in my 45 years!

You are not speaking nonsense. When you listen to someone like ‘Em, and follow his catalog, it is surreal because you feel like it is in real time but he has been through all of his experiences. It is like reading someone’s gigantic audio diary, and wherever you ARE, that is where he WAS. I would say, just stay in the B-rabbit hole, and just let go, AND let it go wherever it takes you, imho. I could tell you every damn track you should listen to, but this is your ‘Em, Marshall, Slim journey, so follow the Sun, and take a rest in the Shad(y) when needed then keep going, there is so much, it is so rich, there are triumphs, and missteps, like all of us. 🔥👌😎 JP

Another great reaction. I do believe Em felt responsible for anyone he influenced to go the drug route. I think he's saying "If you followed me to that place of drugs, then follow to sobriety". Just my humble opinion

React to Kasey Chambers - Lose Yourself (cover). She changed the song in a type way you can appreciate even more Eminem's pen. And that cover touch me like Lose Yourself never could

Lol, well I didn't just not listen to him - I actively avoided his music. The only one I can think of that was just unavoidable is "Lose Yourself" and even that one, I know the hook and general pace of it but, not really the lyrics.

@@mrBobTek I'm beginning to see why. I also really loved this song because it's the first one that I can really give to my son as an introduction. If you're aware, he was listening to something that I couldn't understand and when I asked his what it was, he said rap. And, I said no that isn't. I don't know anything really but, I know at least enough to know that whatever that was...it wasn't rap. So, this song in particular is super special because my son kinda sparked this whole channel/journey.

Yes, they weren't written in this order, but they flow well this way. Arose is Em reflecting (a good few years after the fact) on how close he came to death from addiction and how he resolved to get himself together and come back with a whole new energy and determination. Not Afraid is him fresh after doing that and expressing that exact energy and determination.
