Great reaction! In case you did not realize - this song is full of word plays and double entendres that require multiple listens to catch. That's really what separates Eminem from other artists because you need to almost de-code his lyrics to get to the true meaning. For example, the start of verse 2 is "Quit playin' with the scissors and shit, and cut the crap. I shouldn't have to rhyme these words in a rhythm for you to know it's a wrap" - Of course if you rhyme words into rhythm, it's literally a rap. However, he is saying that at this point in his career, after everything he's done, he shouldn't even have to rhyme anymore for people to realize that it's a wrap. As in, he has already won. Of course scissors/shit and cut/crap are synonyms too. The verse then continues with a double meaning rhyme scheme of going to the dentist. "You said you was king, you lied through your TEETH. For that, fuck your feelings (FILLINGS), Instead of gettin' CROWNED, you're gettin' CAPPED". Those are all dentist/teeth terms, but the actual meaning is that people claim to be kings of rap, but instead of putting a crown on them, he has put an end to them. These are 2 our of maybe 10-15 word plays in this song itself. Hope you keep listening and over time you'll be able to catch these too! It's a whole different kind of experience :)

This is such an empowering song of recovery. He has been sober for 14 years this year. This is his message to others struggling with addiction, telling them they are not alone in this and that they can recover. I am an addiction clinician and there isn't much that is more difficult than getting and staying sober. This song gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.

Em got addicted to prescription pills and because of that he took a few years away from making music. His addiction got really bad after his best friend was shot and killed in 2006. He almost died from a drug overdose in 2007. He has been clean for 14 years now💪💪💪

Just one thing...no one is happy in their addiction. They don't want help until they are ready and many times, the reason people don't reach out for help is because of the stigma and the deep shame they feel. But trust me, having worked with those with substance use disorder for 25 years, not a single one wakes up in the morning and says they want to stay in this nightmare. There is no joy in it. Their sense of shame and feeling worthless keeps them there until someone makes them believe they are worth it.

@old guy reactions excellent excellent reaction video trust me you want to do Eminem reactions. If you're not really really into rap it's hard to explain all the intricate different things that embody rap when it comes lyrically. There is too many to write down but I'll name a few, there's the actual similes, metaphors, entendra's, homophones, there's the different cadences, rhyming, there is multiple syllable rhyming(so rhyming more than one syllable in each sentence, flows, the actual story if they're trying to give you a storyline. It is not even close by far the most intricate kind of music that we have. They are the poets of the music world ... Well the good ones are. But when it comes to Eminem he is the Shakespeare of our time.. there's no one really like him that I have heard when it comes to every asset of rap. Yeah and by the way Eminem is the golden algorithm to having success on reaction videos so as long as you keep it honest you will have success in doing what you're doing thank you excellent video!!!! 🔥

Great reaction! There are tons of inspirational Eminem songs. Of course, there are tons that you will not like because of content, tons you won't like because they are just rappity rap songs to showcase skill. But, that's the great thing about Eminem.
