That last line ("Why be a king... when you can be a god") is important. Like, there was a "King of Rock" (Elvis) and then a "King of Pop" (MJ) but nobody has ever tried to claim the title "King of Rap," because they would instantly become a huge target and get dogpiled on by everybody else, as they should. So Eminem pole-vaulted right over that title and claimed "Rap God" instead. And he pulled it off. Anybody ever mentions a "rap god," you automatically think of Eminem. He's that dude. PS: Rakim (as in Eric B. and Rakim) predates the Wu-Tang Clan by well over a decade. Maybe you were thinking of Raekwon?

The funny part for me...Eminem is now inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! Most people have to listen at least a few time so get what he's saying! lol.

That "im witnessing a massacre(mass occur)like a church gathering taken place" bar is hard.
@jaysea8382 жыл бұрын
This was one of the very first bars I caught from EM back in the day. I don't know why but it made me look at his music (and hip hop) completely different. Ever since that day I listen to music completely different and understand why the true lyricists are so special. I know EM has much harder bars than this example, but I wanted to comment and agree with your post as it brought back a lot of memories!

Same with the Columbine line which got him in trouble. He came out with a new song where he sings about gun violence so he has grown.

Everything of Eminem is so wild, his bars are so crazy no one can can say he isn't the GOAT, or they can feel free to say who thinks is their best. And we can debate that.

Love your reactions.. it’s hard for me to fathom anyone not hearing this track by now. (Considering how much air play it got). I’m not complaining, i find it extremely entertaining to see 1st time reactions. You both have great energy together - keep up the fantastic work!

That is because most likely they have heard it before and are farming up views by saying they have not. Many reactors are doing this. It is not surprising.
@jaysea8382 жыл бұрын
@@RareHarmony I can't argue that and I won't lie and say that it wasn't my first thought when seeing it. Mind you, up until 6 months ago, Rap God was the last song I had heard from EM in > a decade. I had other things going on in life and music was not one of them. So it is possible. simply hard to believe.

Rakim = Eric B and Rakim, i aint no joke, microphone feind, Thinking of a master plan= Rakim, Rakim changed hip hop to what the Eminems, J Coles, Kendrick Lamars of today do. Before Rakim you had the Melle Mel's who rhymed at the end of a line, Rakim is the one who started inner and outter rhymes, syllable rhyming with different cadences and flows, he was a legit game changer for hip hop and is honestly the place and point in time hip hop advanced. Kinda like WW1 weapons were used at the start of WW2 and then there was mass innovation and advancement to Jets and Missiles from prop planes and artillery, Rakim is that important to the story and lineage of hip hop. Stay blessed 👊🏼
