This song and video was based off of a real boy who his friends killed when he returned to his old neighbourhood. This was a very serious project for Michael and he did such an amazing job with it. I actually cried the first time I watched it. Very talented actor,better, singer dancer, etc.,etc., etc.

a little background to the story. Darryl played by Michael is a student from the ghetto that studied outside of the ghetto, being basically the one of few black kids to make it in that school (in case you haven't noticed) That's why in the beginning Darryl was told by that white guy, the south asian guy in the train just happens to be another colored student from the hood.

You gotta watch the “BAD 25” Documentary it gives you an in-depth look on MJ’s whole BAD Era and even has Martin Scorsese In it also this Short Film to me is actually more influential than Thriller although Thriller is more legendary also MJ should’ve won an Oscar for his performance in this Short Film cause his Acting Chops are amazing also this was Wesley Snipes on screen acting Debut this whole Short Film is a masterpiece just like all of MJ’s Music Videos Long Live The King Of Music Forever!👊🏽🙌🏽👑🖤🔥💯(Btw MJ when he starting yelling at Wesley and getting upset it made me sad but also I got chills that man could act his ass off not mentioning Captain EO,The Wiz and various other Films he acted in...also a little fun fact MJ actually hurt that old mans arm accidentally after doing multiple takes of MJ shoving him out of the way MJ said he didn’t want to do it anymore but they got the right take after doing it once more it was intense lol)

Yo, dude, the look on your lady's face when Wesley grabbed Mike had me rolling on the floor laughing, LOL. "Bad", the long version, is my favorite video/short film. Better than "Thriller" in my opinion. I always had a thought that if I won the lottery or had disposable money, I would remake "Bad" without the dancing part because there was an earnest conflict there between those two main characters and I would have loved to see it play out realistically.
