@@fornius7 , you are in my team. Tarja was, as you say, the mother or everyone metal gothic singer, but I hold my position, according to natural skills and greater voice, Floor Jansen is awesome. BUT I must say, Amy Lee, Tarja, and Floor are, by much, better than any soprano singer out there. We are on the same page, guys.

Brian Rouleau, she wasn’t lip syncing when I went to her concert last year. But expect all singers do it at times when their voices are strained. They do have to give their vocal chords a break or risk damaging their voice. 😊

Brian Rouleau I’m from Little Rock, our high schools were rivals. I literally know this band. I’ve seen her live four times. Once two years ago during “Synthesis.” She’s always pitchy in her rock shows. Is she perfect, no. But she’s an amazing performer. Can you imagine trying to do that ever couple nights? I’m not being a bitch, I swear, but when she’s standing still/playing piano, it’s obvious she doesn’t use auto tune.

"What's up with the audience?" This song was written to express her feelings about dealing with the insane pressure piled on her by fans and the industry after their breakout with, "Bring Me to Life." The makeup is to make them look like vampires/zombies/random leech-like monsters.

From interviews Amy Lee has said Going Under was about an abusive relationship she was in around the time the song was written (most of the Fallen album were demos her and Moody had recorded before taking them to record labels). In fact; Amy actually wanted Going Under to be their first single not Bring Me To Life. So, I kinda doubt Going Under is about their dealings with success after their rapid rise to stardom with the release of BMTL. The music video might be about that though.

@Jorge Escudero I saw someone asked her that in an interview which she recalls she didn't take vocal lessons but, movement lessons to be comfortable on stage she used to be in one spot with her eyes closed all the time and before Fallen tour started she took only 3 lessons with a guy to fully learn how to move on stage without thinking so much and having fun which she learned phenomenally bc she has such a high stamina on live concerts moving and twirling around all over the stage she's in. The only vocals lesson she took was in the Choir class back when she was in highschool. She has developed a better breathing technique over time tho, but that's bc of the experience she has gotten with the years in touring. Usually the first songs in her set are the hardest, then she does a piano rock ballad break, goes back to hard rock songs and then another break with piano and slow songs in order to keep her voice safe and finish her set with the classics like Bring me to Life. Over time she has mastered how to do the perfect setlist and give an amazing concert experience to the crowd.

Evanescence "Bring Me To Life" Need to hear that. Badass song. Even better than this one. This was good. "Bring Me To Life" is just better. Her voice on THAT song? Will blow your mind even more. (Paul McCoy of 12 Stones is the male voice on that song.) Very cool. Truly a must listen, dood. There is a video version. Do not watch any live versions first. Just my two cents. Everything Amy Lee sings is great. But, definitely check out Halestorm too. Lzzy Hale is unbelievable dood. Another amazing singer. She does a live duet with Amy Lee of Evanescence that is just gorgeous. Lzzy's tribute to her fans, "Break In", will break your heart. Broke mine. So hard. (And they have a great song with a badass title: "You Call Me a Bitch Like It's a Bad Thing." Coolest title ever, dood.)

Nadia Gnl she was was a senior and I was a sophomore so I didn’t know her that well. But she wasn’t gothic at all. Her look was more of a skater look than anything. She had brown hair and not a lot of makeup. She seemed sorta quiet and shy for the most part. Most of her friends were the artsy kind. But she was nice and very talented. We even sang a song in choir that she wrote and composed. When the teacher was out sick or something, instead of a sub, Amy would teach the class.

I come bearing some Red fun facts *The guitarist (Anthony Armstrong) and bassist (Randy Armstrong) are twins. *The Armstrong twins have known the singer (Michael Barnes) since grade school *When on tour about a decade ago, the band’s tour van got into a serious accident, crashing into a guard rail(no one was seriously injured). *A lot of their music videos are actually connected, in order;Darkest Part, Feed The Machine, Release The Panic, and then The Evening Hate. (I’m not sure where Gone fits in at, maybe before Darkest Part?) *The name “Red” refers to the blood of Christ (kinda cheesy but interesting nonetheless). Now onto your regularly scheduled recommendations Demon Hunter- I Play Dead, Artificial Light, Someone to Hate, Not I King 810 - Braveheart, Trauma Model, Fat Around The Heart, murder murder murder Red- Release The Panic, Darkest Part, Evening Hate, Feed The Machine This is basically a heavier version of Evanescence but, Mechina- The Horizon Effect
