I wish people stop spreading misinformation about the origin of this song. Lyrics were written by Ben Moody and it’s NOT about Amy’s sister. Here is what Any said in 2020 interview: “I went through a phase where I considered never playing it again because I'm so sick of it. It's hard to have your sound wrapped up into one song, but in general artists are known for one song above the others and for us that's either 'Bring Me To Life' or 'My Immortal'. Both of them have something that doesn't sum up our band right, 'Bring Me To Life' has the rap, but 'My Immortal' is the one Evanescence song that I didn't write the lyrics to. It's precious and from this formative time where we were learning how to make music, but our old guitar player wrote the words and I've never liked them. You tend to love something that you pour your real self and heart into more, so it was never my favourite.“

The enemy fights you in your mind. No matter how heavy it gets, no matter how hard it may seem, no matter what life puts on your shoulders, look down and dig your feet in and stand up against the odds, because you can. You’re still breathing, you’re still lifting the weight of life, because you’re stronger than anyone can fathom. Stand up because you’re not done and fight from the inside and remember she’s your spotter now. I’ll see you on the Rock N Roll Road my brother.

@@ladyonyx3811 I have C-PTSD, so I get what you mean. Sometimes the person I used to be seems so distant that it's like I was never like that at all. To Badgerr and Everyone Who Lost Their Soulmate: United in life, united in death - you will meet again. The pain throughout your soul represents the very depths of love you shared together - and that, makes you VERY VERY LUCKY; you know what love is, you found someone to love, and they loved you right back. Take from this great blessing and pay it forward - to others who need love; there are so many! You are a greater, wiser, and more interesting man since you began loving your lady - and now, you're capable of loving even more. You could find so many ways to honor her, while you are waiting to reunite. Do what you can and prayers. From another Soul Survivor to you.

This song is almost 20 years old now and came out when I was in my early 20's. It's a song that defiantly hits harder now. Back then, it was just a great song, now it's a powerful song. I can now relate to the lyrics, but not towards a specific relationship, but towards my memories, moments, and my mind. The older we get, the more memories hurt, not just the sad and/or bad ones like losing a loved one, but the good ones also, like life never being as great as it once was, as certain moments will never be experienced again like they were when we lived them. My memories are slowly killing me as I can't let go.

Yes PLEASE, more Evanescence! Seriously ANYTHING off of their channel or from Amy's personal channel is AMAZING! Do you remember the movie DareDevil from 2003? It has Ben Affleck as the main character and Jennifer Garner opposite him. This song and one other song of theirs was on the soundtrack to that movie. Part of this and part of the other song played in the middle of the movie. This really catapulted Evanescence into the limelight and they exploded from there (they were already AWESOME, just not so well-known as they totally deserved to be). This reaction was really good! You just have to remember that guys are still human, it's okay to be human and have emotions. That is what art is supposed to do, make you FEEL something. Otherwise, what the hell are you doing with a reaction channel? It's okay, man. :)
