The Lyrics….” lousy lovers, pick their prey but they never cry out loud.” “ Did she make You Cry, make you break down, shatter your illusions of love.” Here she is actually talking about herself as a third person. The hearts that she has broken because of her constant tours. “Rulers make bad lovers, you’d better put your kingdom up for sale….” This song is about a few different things. It’s about drug use and being a rock and roll Queen…yet not being able to have true love on the road. Stevie always said she sacrificed having a husband and family for being a Rock n Roll Star.

Stevie had a serious cocaine problem (take your silver spoon, dig your grave). A doctor told her that her nose was already damaged and she had to stop before it collapsed. That was her wake up call.

That’s the same thing I was trying to say. This song is literally about addiction to cocaine and addiction to a person. Take your silver spoon and dig. Your grave is very prolific, but also very clear. I like your comment.

TO YOU 2 , CONTEXT : WHAT YOU'RE SEEING IS FROM THE '87 " TANGO IN THE NIGHT TOUR ' FILMED IN SF, AT THE COW PALACE. I KNOW, I WAS THERE. FROM '68 TO '88, I SAW FM 24 TIMES, IN ALL THE VARYING LINE UPS . THIS ONE HAS : MY FAVORITE, CHRISTINE MCVIE ON KEYBOARDS, RIP. ----------MICK FLEETWOOD ON DRUMS----------JOHN MCVIE [ FORMER SPOUSE ] ON BASS. 2 WEEKS BEFORE THE TOUR, LINDSAY BUCKINGHAM REFUSED TO TOUR, & WAS FIRED. HE WAS REPLACED HERE ON LEAD GUITAR BY RICK VITO & ON RHYTHM GUITAR & VOCALS BY BILLY BURNETTE. FOR ME, THIS IS THE VERY FINEST FM LINE-UP EVER. EVER! -----------STEVIE NICKS LOOKED TERRIBLE. HER YEARS OF COKE USE HAD CAUGHT UP, & SHE WAS ON BENZODIAZAPINES ---------VALIUM-------& THEY MADE HER RETAIN WATER WEIGHT. AT ONLY 5' 2 1/2 " , SHE'S VERY PETITE & THE WEIGHT GAIN WAS NOTICEABLE. WANNA SEE HER AT HER MOST GORGEOUS & BEST, CHECK OUT OF '81 SOLO TOUR HERE ON YT , " THE WHITE WINGED DOVE TOUR " . THERE, SHE IS LUMINOUS. ----------------STEVIE WROTE THIS SONG DURING A COKE BINGE. LISTEN CAREFULLY, BECAUSE SHE TELLS YOU ALL ABOUT IT----AHHHHHHH, THE 70'S ! YA SHOULDA BEEN THERE. ---MJL, 77 Y/O

That is Stevie Nicks…the Queen of Rock. Hard to believe you haven’t heard a song by Fleetwood Mac…or you think you haven’t. They are played everywhere. Go check them out…Dreams, The Chain, Landslide, Go your own Way, Little Lies, Everywhere, Gypsy and so many more wonderful songs from Fleetwood Mac. Also Stevie Nicks has many many solo songs from her solo career. Edge of Seventeen, Stand Back, I Can’t Wait, NIGHTBIRD, Talk To Me, Leather And Lace, Stop Dragging My Heart Around and many more.

Stevie Nicks lead vocals Lindsey Buckingham lead guitar and backing vocals Mick Fleetwood on the drums Christian Mcvie on the piano and sometimes vocals John Mcvie on Bass guitar. When Fleetwood had these 5 members they were a force to be reckoned with.

"What was that?" at the beginning was just the drummer, Mick Fleetwood, being silly and theatrical. 😊😊😊

With all due respect, I just want to educate y’all on this song because I’m a huge Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac fan. This song is about cocaine and how you can become subject to something or someone telling you what to do in your life. She’s telling you to take your silver spoon and dig your grave. Did she make you cry, make you break down? Can you pick up the pieces and go home? It’s all about addiction and cocaine.

This song is about heroine. The silver spoon is used to cook the hetoine. Seeing her sunrise going down is about coming down after being high.

It’s about cocaine and Stevie’s addiction to it. Gold Dust was slang back in the day for cocaine - Gold Dust Woman. She’s stated heroine was the one drug she stayed away from

Stevie had issues with cocaine. Actually, the entire band. The lyric "take your silver spoon, dig your grave" refers to her coke spoon.

I wish people would listen blind, just the album version and then go to the live version if you want. This song sounds so much better on the studio version. Is it a copyright thing, or just what was recommended? I hope you do go to the studio version at some point. Really, the whole album is great.
