You're totally right. The song is an up tempo song, but in this version with the orchestra they changed it up and slowed it down. Give her another chance though! She's an unbelievable talent. Try their new song "Free" or any or their songs.

This was a fundraiser being held at a Historical Hall so this was modified for the occasion and location and not representative of her authentic artistry or how she really performs this. i bought ticket to her show in Madison square garden nyc because my fav artist sam fender is opening for her and i had no idea who she was even though she's the main event. The show is next week and I have been on a amazing binge and dude I love her. My ticket was pricey when at the begining i was just paying for Sam whos opening but iam getting quite the deal now since iam a Florence fan NOW!

You're right, it actually is a lot more up tempo in the studio version versus the live orchestral version. The two are completely different and can see why you're being thrown off. Maybe give the studio version a listen, then maybe this kind of "stripped down" version makes sense

I really recommend listening to it with the lyrics. Also, listen to the acoustic version. It is uptempo, but is also quite heavy subject matter. Acoustic versions don't use the organ. It's much lighter 😊

Great song just maybe not for your introduction to this woman or song. Studio version is more emotional to me. What I loved about your reaction is you had this grin on your face while scratching your head.
