Great reaction. I have been listening to her for the past 12 years now. Yet you helped me to see something new in her. Thank you for this. And I have to say this, because I can't help feeling that you are thinking about "Shake it Off" instead of this one. I don't think this one (even in the original) is as well known as Taylor's song. Nevertheless Thanks a lot! And you definately need to see her live! It is like your soul and body is being goven a babtism!

@equestanton10172 жыл бұрын
I'm sure you know better by now but no man, you got it all wrong, this aint a cover version it's an original written and performed by Florence + the Machine from their Album "Ceremonials". You've never heard a "rendition' of this song this is is it. Loved your reaction, surprise. The lyrics are outstanding, powerful as is her singing here. Her performance and her persona are two very different creatures. She is the ultimate artist in that she becomes, she morphs into someone else when she sings, her alter ego or what ever you wish to call that, it's essentially a performance. This is true for every great actor, performer. Where the two meet is a space called madness, which is why luckily they hardly ever do meet. She is exactly what you think she is when you hear her speak in the beginning dude. LOl The rest is called the performing arts. Americans often confuse this with cold reality, which is how they voted a mediocre TV host in as president, pure madness was the result.
@gem36142 жыл бұрын
Truly remarkable but in my opinion whenever you interrupt a song four to six times or more You really don’t get the full effect of it. It ruins the whole experience for yourself and it is an experience. Keep digging into her music. She is phenomenal
@stevenbradley48842 жыл бұрын
You are correct on saying this is a corrected version of these songs, how often does a world class performer get to slow their songs down because they have an amazing 50 + orchestra backing them up ????????
@iTeacupPanda3 жыл бұрын
She is definitely my favorite artist and musician of today. Potentially overall but I've got so much love for Kate Bush so it's probably a tie. Ha ~ But yeah she is one to check out. She does such a variety of sound it's impossible to really pinpoint her but she keeps like a . . . like you can see how one genre progressed to the other she has a lot of cross-over and bridges between projects. She can do soul, R&B, folk, baroque pop, rock, classical. So much really. But yeah she gets chosen to do music for movies a lot because she does a lot of epic stuff and even in those you can hear such a variety. She recently did a song for the new Cruella movie " Call me Cruella " and it's nothing like her song for Game of Thrones " Jenny of Old Stones " which is nothing like her track for Snow White and the Huntsman " Breath of Life " or her songs and cover for FFXIV " Stand By Me " and more. You didn't get to see it here but she has a SUPER powerful falsetto and can use her voice like a weapon. I've never seen someone use their voice in such contrasting ways seconds apart from one another and craft it so beautifully.

@iTeacupPanda3 жыл бұрын
@@luxetveritas9196 Yeah she is OBVIOUSLY talented. but what Nightwish isn't Nightwish without Tarja. Not a dig at any other singer, they just literally don't do what put them on the map or that they were known for and change musically EVERY singer they get. and I feel like Floor was a safe bet for them. Makes half the old fans happy, half the fans from Anette's era + some of Floor's following. I'm always impressed with her vocals but the songs aren't as . . . woah anymore to me. I think Tarja was a real muse for Tuomas, after all he literally made the band metal just for her voice.
@luxetveritas91963 жыл бұрын
@@iTeacupPanda @iTeacupPanda I agree with everything you said. I much prefer Floor in After Forever. Tarja + Tuomas was and always will be a match made in heaven. The music they created together was in another dimension entirely. What may be surprising is that I only discovered Nightwish in 2018, and although I like some of the Anette and Floor stuff (esp Imaginaerum), I am a DIEHARD fan for the CLASSIC Nightwish. I can only enjoy the later stuff by separating it from Tarja's era. That being said, there is still something magical I find about the Anette era, unlike the last two albums. Possibly because DPP is all about Tarja lol. I recently have started to feel more affected than ever before by the beauty of the original era, and feel unbearably sad about what happened. It's so painful that I became a fan so long after it all happened, but I totally get how the old fans feel.
