I have to say I prefer the Ship version to this one; this one sounds kind of unfinished with a lot of dub and jam material - it sounds just like what it is: a prerecorded demo tape. Frank kept it in the vault for a reason. Having Duke and Underwood on keys and piano only adds to the charm, and Aynsley was a monster drummer despite not really lashing out here. The solo was ok. You should react to Waka Jawaka for some terrific Aynsley drumming! By the time Ship rolled around, Envelopes was well rehearsed and composed, as depicted by that version and the 83 orchestral one. Thorough and composed takes the cake for me! 🙂

Yeah, this one is definitely unfinished since I've heard the others now. Orchestral one drops in the next hour! :)
