I could listen to him for hours! The meaning of a troubadour is a singer. An example: A Texas troubadour prefers to a singer who share his feelings through music and on stage. A Troubadour is a medieval term for someone who makes their living by traveling around and singing songs or reciting poetry. And yes, George Strait is a real deal rodeo man. Two of his best known songs, Amarillo by Morning and I Can Still Make Cheyenne, have to do with the struggles and sacrifices made for that 8 second high. One of my personal favorites of his is Seashores of Old Mexico, which is basically about him getting in trouble with the law and skipping over the border to avoid jail time. It's a chill song though and good for a relaxing summer playlist. (My sister named her dog after this song because it was like the top song at the time. She was terrible at naming animals😭 Mercifully we nicknamed him Truby.)

Amarillo by morning is one of his earlier hits (1982) so definitely check that out!! The fiddle at the beginning and end will give you goose bumps. He has a band that he’s been with since the late 70s, Ace in the Hole. He’s been writing and singing since he was in the Army in 1971. Him and his wife lost their 13 yr old daughter in a car accident in early 80s. The man is amongst the legends of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Alan Jackson and a few more I’m not remembering atm.
