You can buy it electronically on his website. He stopped letting other sites sell his music because places like itunes, pandora, etc. weren't paying the artist hardly anything. It was a gamble, but he and Taylor Swift both stepped away and I know TS is back on spotify but I don't really use any other platforms.

@@buzzkillington3840 in 1989-93 In Oklahoma we had 3 or 4 listenable radio stations. None of those were metal stations, we had a rock station, but nothing too heavy. That's because they were smart and kept the rights to their music, or bought them back early on, instead of giving them up for a record contract. Unless you write, or more importantly produce your own music, there are still some artists who sell millions of records and yet end up filing for bankruptcy.

After that Dallas concert which I believe was the first concert held in that venue after it was built, after that TV special and him flying dangling by wires, fire all around the stage rain falling as he walks through it during the thunder rolls. They did a lot of big performance stuff with that concert. I think after the world saw that they were like oh country music can do this, maybe we should do this more. He kind of woke the world up to what good performing can really be when it comes to country.

I agree he is one of the greats. I grew up listening to his music. However, I have to disagree with your comment somewhat. If he would truly do anything for his fans he would make sure that fans have wider options to access his music. Not everybody has a membership with Amazon nor Amazon music. I kind of feel like it is a way to control the cash flow which would be self-serving... Not necessarily serving the fans. That's just my opinion 🤔
@TheBratling

@@eventuallyeverafter7277 you do realize that the way he does it hurts his bottom line, right? I guess not. He has ALWAYS been an advocate for the artists and the songwriters. He's still an album guy, and in the current model, it sucks to be the songwriters and artists. The tech company gets the money and they get pennies on the dollar.

@@TheBratling I do understand how the industry eats artist's money... And I didn't deny that he is one of the greats. I grew up listening to him along with several other artists from a variety of genres. It's unfortunate that a lot of them have to be in the situation where they aren't in complete control of their work and profits. I will point out though, you are able to obtain music from countless number of other artists from many different sources. with all due respect, that was just my opinion. Everyone is entitled to one of those to voice from their own perspective based on the information given. 😃

In college I dated a guy who ran a bar in downtown Athens, GA - he always said they wouldn't play country because it wasn't cool enough and Athens was too diverse to narrow the customer base... except for Garth because, and I quote, "everyone likes Garth Brooks." One night at 2 AM I got the giggles watching a bar full of every type of person there is belting out "Callin' Baton Rouge" together, and realized he was right!

I've listened to every Garth album since his first came out in 1989. I've listened so much that I burned through several cassette tapes and the CD laser burned through the CDs (well, not literally, but you know...). I even met him in person outside of a concert once. I KNOW his voice. I KNOW the sound of every instrument on every song, so I can spot covers a mile away, even the very good ones. You just can't be sure it is him if you don't know him and if you aren't seeing him on a live stage or a concert video. So I'm glad you finally got a real version of him, because I know it is a rarity to not get a cover of his songs on YT. He was artist of the decade in the 90's by either the ACM or CMA awards, and was influenced not only by country music greats (Hank Williams Sr., Merle Haggard, and George Jones who he considered the "holy trinity" of country music, but also George Strait). He was also influenced by Motown greats, The Eagles, and also Bob Seger, of whom are mostly from my home state of Michigan.

I'm old af. I remember when this song came out. I had the cassette...played it in my Walkman while on the bus. Lol. I also remember seeing his concert on TV. Thankful it was on 1 of 2 channels we got. Yes. I grew up with only 2 channels. NBC & CBS. Also have you heard garth brooks extend version of the thunder roll??? Its good!!!

I love your reactions. I use Garth Brooks, Elvis Presley, Tupac, and many other great artist songs as lullabies for all my babies. All three of them have been rocked to this song at 3 am

Garth owns the masters to his entire catalog. Which means he has total control over where and how it's Streamed. Been a die hard fan since 91. Greatest entertainer on the planet

Had the privilege of going to a concert in my hometown 2 years ago!! It sold out in 30 seconds online so being the awesome guy he is he did a second show the same night and it sold out just as fast. Gotta listen to the Live version of Friends in low places with the mysterious 3rd verse or Ain't going down till the sun comes up and Thunder Rolls.

Garth had all his music taken away from sites that could be copied and downloaded for free. you can convert youtube vids to mp3 with sites.. So you want his music you have to actually buy it or find someone and copy them.

GARTH!!!! My first concert was Garth at Texas Stadium in ‘93. I was nine years old. If there’s a live performance of Ain’t Going Down ‘Til the Sun Comes up - that’s a fun one 👍

As you've seen in other comments, he's very protective of his music, which makes sense to alot of his fans. Makes sense for him and his family..sucks sometimes in the KZbin era we're living in, but as a huge garth fan, I hold no ill will towards the man because of it!

The band members in this video from 1994 are mostly the same ones he tours with today. The female bass player here is his sister, Betsy, who passed away. The guitar player, Ty England, pursued a solo career for a while then came back and joined the band for the stadium tour. There’s a new guy on fiddle now, Jimmy Mattingly, but the rest of the group is the same. How cool is that, to be playing today, 30 years later, with the same guys you started with? After taking a break to raise his daughters no less!
