I am in tears. This is the song my dad used to listen to when he got back to his stateroom on board the USS Ranger after flying missions in Vietnam. He was a career Navy fighter pilot. This song got him through it all.

As you may know, George was a member of The Beatles. George released this song shortly after the breakup of The Beatles. It was the first song to top the Billboard ranking of hit songs by any Beatle post breakup. From Google search: I'm not pushing Buddhism, because I'm no more a Buddhist than I am a Christian, but there's one thing I admire about the religion [Buddhism]: There's no proselytizing." Harrison continued to embrace the Hare Krishna tradition (particularly japa-yoga chanting with beads) and became a lifelong devotee.

He was commonly referred to as the most spiritual of the four Beatles, but was sued for apparently plagiarizing the 60's song "He's So Fine" even though he said he got the song's melodic inspiration from "Oh Happy Day" by the Edwin Hawkins Singers, another song you might want to check out.

George Harrison was very spiritual and followed eastern spiritual traditions. I believe he was a Krishna devotee, but also honored Jesus and other spiritual masters. Rama and Krishna are deities from the Hindu tradition. The part of the song that starts with "Guru Bramha" is the Guru Mantra (prayer).

Ace, I think it's time for you to get to know the group we've been talking about so much in the comments, The Beatles! Members were, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Actually it's Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Ringo Starr, as they were knighted by Queen Elizabeth. Sadly both John and George are no longer with us...John was murdered in 1980, outside his apartment building, aged 40. George died of cancer in 2001, aged 58 😢. Try, I want you ( She's so heavy). John Lennon on lead vocals. Oh Darling ( Paul McCartney on lead vocals). Something ( George Harrison on lead vocals). Please do the official video, as they're wives appear on the video. Lord Krishna is celebrated in the sacred book called the Bahgivad Gita in the Hindu faith. The song celebrates all spiritual teachers or gurus of all religions who have given love and guidance to humanity throughout time ❤

So glad and rich I was born in a VERY diverse country where all kinds of GREAT music where played on the radio. George Harrison's solo music compositions has given me much inspiration and MUSIC in general. George has two more which I like: "Give me love" and "What is life". Major contribution during The Beatles was "Something". Respectable and great musician. BTW: During "My sweet lord" with Hindu words according to Hindu gods. Short after there was a movie screenend in 3 cinemas named "Hare Rama, Hare Krishna" which I saw. Hindi language do not understand only a few words but nevertheless, the stereo sound was amazing.

It’s a mantra in itself. Harrison was a very spiritual man, when he was sick he was if he asked if he feared death . He said he’d be a hypocrite if he did as he had been preparing for it most of his life . Paraphrasing ☮️

The came back after discovering that their Indian guru was as much interested in banging groupies as helping them find enlightenment. These are all deities in the Hindu faith, which is a massively confusing and complex religion--Krishna, for example, is the eighth avatar of the god Vishnu--of and light years more sophisticated and philosophical than Christianity. Buddhism is an off-shoot of Hinduism the way that Christianity is an offshoot of Judaism. The maharishi mahesh yogi soon became a celebrity, booking tours across Europe and the United States, and filled the Madison Square Garden in 1968. One comedian in the 80s joked that the Beatles mentioned his name and he became a millionaire.
